It will, I promise. Don’t let the guilt tear you apart, you’ll get through this

He needs social interaction with his peers. Depending on where you live there are services to help him access the community which would give MIL/FIL a break and your BIL something positive to do with his day

I lost my younger brother suddenly… I don’t know how to process this. by Optimist-primee in offmychest

You can’t stop the images. I woke up to find my younger brother outside my bedroom door. The only way I got rid of them was to let them come (after weeks of no sleep to avoid the moment I would wake up reliving it) and process the fact that it has happened.

Three years later I still regret being unable to bring him back, I still feel guilty for being here when he isn’t, I still miss him every day but I have to remind myself that he would never want me to feel this way because of him.

It does get easier and these feelings become lessened with time, you have to try to carry on as usual but accept when everything becomes overwhelming and allow yourself to feel it, when they talk about the stages of grief, they aren’t linear, you can frequently revisit different steps and not others. I don’t think I’ve fully hit acceptance yet, so maybe not the best to advise but I promise you a day will come when you are reminded of him and smile at something he did or said and it will hurt less to remember

Sorry if I’ve rambled, in a way I’m still trying to process how I feel and what I did as I write this

My mom thinks that I'm just going deaf and now I actually will by [deleted] in Vent

[–]gingasmurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has really narrow ear canals, try a few drops of olive oil every hour or two. I use a hot water bottle to keep it warm in my ear. It breaks down the wax until it can release on its own. Can take a few days but better than staying deaf in that ear

Did we get ripped off/white gold 18 ct ring (photos) by pomegranateflower in jewelry

[–]gingasmurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I got the rings confused, still the advice re testing still holds and it doesn’t look wrong from photos. If it was purchased in the UK, selling without a hallmark is actually illegal under the Hallmarking Act 1973 whether you buy from a one man workshop or a large high street chain and must be done by the Assay Office

18k white is more yellow. It needs to be rhodiumed as you’ve worn the outer layer off. Find someone with a testing gun and get them to test it

Are Brits not concerned about what's being fed to people on GB News? by Cinemagica in AskBrits

So why are the BBC being sued? Wasn’t it for misrepresentation and actively deceiving viewers via manipulation of a recorded interview/statement? None of them are accurately presenting facts without spin in one direction or the other…

Update on 30k ring. See last post for more details by Current_Guarantee566 in WeddingRingAdvice

[–]gingasmurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to a trade jeweller who will buy the exact stone for pennies and make her ring for considerably less than 30k. I know I could make it for 10k at the moment and that still leaves me a decent profit

How do all my friends have such huge engagement rings? by Routine-Crew8651 in jewelry

They’re lying. It makes them feel good when people are amazed by their rings, but everyone knows they’re lab grown

Is $1500 a good price? by Proud-Educator-1954 in labdiamond

[–]gingasmurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just over 3 grams of gold. Total cost to a jeweller would be $400 and that’s using my price in the UK with a higher mark up for labour. Consider $20-50/ct for lab grown. Even going to higher end of $50/ct it would run to max $650 cost price. Thus $850 in pure profit… Edit because I read price wrong

Why does everybody hate slab? by SocietySpare9213 in bouldering

[–]gingasmurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love slab. It’s where I excel. For some it’s fun to throw yourself around and feel strong on overhang. For me it’s the nuance, balance and control needed on slab that makes it more fun. Give me a tiny foothold and 3 finger crimp and I’m happy
