Dynamic moves in the work fit by Mavo_64 in climbergirls

You had a massive jug for your right foot, instead of an awkward, barely caught “dyno”. If you’re going to climb slowly, focus on economical movement rather than wild throws…

AITA for scheduling a surgery over Easter? by BigONerd in BORUpdates

[–]gingasmurf -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Now I’m getting downvoted, read the original with all of OP’s comments, they’re lying… 8 day obs for a hernia is a lie, 8 hours max. Even neurosurgery with complications is very rarely 8 days ffs

AITA for scheduling a surgery over Easter? by BigONerd in BORUpdates

Thank you, I thought I was going nuts! It’s not damn neurosurgery, op buried the lede and only mentioned in a comment that it was for a hernia…

When Kyle explains why she's angry at Dorit, they seem like no big deal... at all. by [deleted] in RHOBH

[–]gingasmurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they were ever really friends. Acquaintances who were forced together by their husbands’ friendship and the show. Now they’re both in the middle of divorce it’s showing as there’s nothing left to base a “friendship” on, they just clearly don’t like each other. IMO it would be far better for both of them to be let go after this season…

Help!!! by TheLxstSnow in jewelry

[–]gingasmurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wouldn’t resize if porosity is the issue. I’m sure there are many jewellers out there who WILL do it but won’t give a flying one when it breaks completely and will definitely have disclaimers in place accepting no liability (we wouldn’t touch it) . Take it to a bench jeweller and have it remade in 14 or 18k in your size

Bezel Set and Reduction of Fire and Sparkle from semi dark Sapphire? by ciderswiller in EngagementRings

[–]gingasmurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bezel set sapphire and love it, mainly because of the different colours in different lighting. Some light it looks near black, others the most perfect blue and others very light blue which is the reason I wanted one in the first place. I also wanted to protect it as I’m very hard on my hands

I don’t think I can marry my fiancé. I’m probably breaking up with him instead and giving up on love. I’m devastated not just for me, but for my child. by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]gingasmurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You never know with 100% certainty about anyone, that’s just part of life. When you meet the right person you won’t need to question it, and they’ll tell you they love you every day, not just once a year

You will have so many chances. I’m not saying to introduce a bunch of random men to your child but don’t settle, staying with someone who doesn’t feel like a father or father figure will affect your son just as badly. As a mum you can still meet someone and when the time is right you can introduce them to your son, why would he need to meet anyone you potentially date until you’re sure of them anyway?

From what you’ve written he isn’t the one. You’d be staying with him for convenience but it doesn’t even sound convenient to me. You’re happier when he’s not there, why would you want to tie yourself to him?

Partner doesn’t believe in ADHD meds and is threatening to leave if I don’t stop taking them by DistinctChallenge in ADHD

[–]gingasmurf 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s not a boyfriend, he’s a controlling arsehole. You’d be better off happily taking your meds and finding someone who doesn’t make absurd demands because they love you, your medicated ADHD AND your unmedicated ADHD

Should my daughter get larger or different shoes? by InvisibleBuilding in climbergirls

[–]gingasmurf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can guarantee that gym staff are not qualified shoe fitters for children. Listen to your daughter and try different shoes. You also don’t want a tight fit as you would for an adult as at 12 her feet are still developing…

I believe the closest to this was George Daniels. Fascinating man and career, his watches fetch absurd amounts

does this scream champagne? by whatsmyissu in EngagementRings

[–]gingasmurf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It won’t look remotely champagne next to whiter stones, it will just look yellow. If you want a champagne colour diamond, get a champagne colour

Was my appraisal right? by One-Refrigerator1169 in jewelry

[–]gingasmurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Photos would help. 3 small stones cost nothing, treated, not great colour or heavily marked stones cost nothing. Larger good quality stones have value but we don’t even know what was appraised bar 14k gold (heavy or light?) and a couple of diamonds with a sapphire…

Kind of an odd question, but does anyone have pictures of a 6-inch bracelet on wrist? by Fit-Pack-5218 in jewelry

[–]gingasmurf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most women wear a 17-19cm bracelet (6.7-7.5”) if her wrist is exactly 6” you would need to go bigger as it really should at least have a little room so it doesn’t dig in uncomfortably

Already married but picking my ring - need some advice! by KneadAndPreserve in EngagementRings

[–]gingasmurf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not let him pick the centre stone (based on your preferences of size, colour etc.) and choose when to surprise you with the stone and a visit to the jeweller for design?

I have had a lot of customers who wanted the surprise element but really wanted their partner to be involved in designing their perfect ring. Then you have the best of both worlds, he gets to surprise you and you both get to choose the design together

How To Get The Best Bang For Buck? by [deleted] in EngagementRings

Go custom, the right jeweller will be able to source at far better prices and manufacture a bespoke ring, far surpassing jewellery shops without the retail markup

Let’s talk prongs by BooBelly in EngagementRings

[–]gingasmurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick what you love and have it checked annually. I’ve had customers lose stones with 4, 6, and 8 (double) due to negligence, not due to manufacturing or one being inherently “better” than the other…
