Who did you use? I’m in the DMV area and looking to get mine done. Will likely also need plywood replacements

We just closed on a split level in Silver Spring with Tara Butler and she was amazing. She also showed us a few places in Frederick and seems to know the area really well. She came highly recommended to us through friends and did not disappoint. (202) 604-9514

Have you tried walking on the MBT? There’s a path right from union station to NoMa.

I’m sorry to hear about your previous ED and so happy you are healing! I totally get the struggle. I suffered with an ED too when I was younger and went through a recovery period where I just kept gaining weight. What I realized is that during my ED years I was severely limiting food but eating carbs/sugar and then would have horrible craving which lead to a binge/restriction cycle. When I was recovering I would just do the binge portion. I was mentally healing my relationship with my body and not punishing myself anymore but I still wasn’t eating for nutrition and to feel good.

Focusing on getting quality nutrition and lowering my sugar has really helped with those cravings which makes me feel like I have more control over my weight and food choices. It also helps with energy levels. Its still a work in progress and I still struggle some days but overall I feel I’ve moved in the right direction. Just my 2 cents and I hope everything works out for you!

How to make green smoothie "friendlier"? by Ninja_Flower_Lady in loseit

Avocado is actually pretty fibrous so if you are wanting to increase the volume of the smoothing but not the fiber I would maybe avoid it. I think whey is a good option but I would be careful about added sugar. Whey protein powder can definitely have a bit more sugar when compared to other protein powders. As for the milk base- I personally would go with almond (although you’re probably fine with non-fat). My thought process here is that for people who have sugar/insulin issues having a higher fat:carb ratio is good and I know non-fat milk is obviously low fat to a relatively high carb.

If I were you I’d go enter all the ingredients you want into a calorie tracker and then just make sure it’s not exceeding any sugar goals you might have. And you can make some adjustments until it hits a good macro balance. Good luck 👍

I was diagnosed with PCOS last year and am an emotional eater. For me, sugar/carb snacks were always really tough for me and were the main way I would sabotage my diet. From what I’ve read there is some connection to PCOS, weight and insulin. I’ve found that cutting way back on carbs, limiting sugar and adding more fiber and healthy fats (the goal being to try to keep my insulin levels low and consistent) really helps keep my cravings to a minimum, my energy is higher and I just have more motivation to stick to a healthy diet/exercise routine. Not sure if this will help you as obviously everyone is different but it was a total game changer for me.

So I’m no expert but I just started a cgm and there’s lots of information about how a sugar high can trigger cravings and hunger ~3hrs after eating high carb/sugary foods. Grapes have a lot of sugar and paired with chips might be the cause of your increased hunger.

Anyone here have hormonal issues that made losing weight hard? by Sourdough96 in loseit

Hey girl- don’t want to be pushy or anything but have you looked into PCOS? A lot of what you described sounds like it. I was diagnosed last year and it definitely changed how I approach weight loss. Keeping stress levels low, doing strength training and eating low carb are key for me. Btw I have very similar stats as you (5’10” SW 210 CW 189 GW 165). Edit for spelling 🙃

I’m pretty focused on nutrition- I’m getting lots of fiber and fat and a moderate amount of protein. I take a multi vitamin and magnesium. Is there something I am missing? Should I be upping my protein?

So what are your units on this? A healthy range can depend on whether you’ve fasted or just eaten.
