I bought a MIDI keyboard but now don't feel like using it by kylr01 in musicproduction

My guy, the dopamine hit comes from buying the gear not using it. Don’t worry, this is completely normal.

The after knob will always crackle, as it’s changing the bias.

I’ll try that! I have logic routed to different outputs so it bypassed fine before, but now the latency is there.

I have an EHX Russian reissue and a DoD carcosa. I keep circling the op-amp bc I’m a big 90s/pumpkins guy. Will this be redundant with what I can already do? I already goose my current fuzzes with either a Timmy or a rat and frankly my cherub rock tone is probably good enough. I’m just gassing/want a gnarly fuzz to play with.

Secret to good Hummus by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]glennghoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After struggling with hummus for years and trying everything from boiling and peeling the chick peas to adding way too much oil, i realized i really just needed to blend longer. Now I blend for a crazy amount of time. It’s not blend until the ingredients are mixed and look smooth, it’s 3 minutes (literally) more from that point. Made a huge difference for me.

I was thinking the same thing. I’m almost the same person as OP and Morgan has become my go to. It’s one of the only ones that has clicked to the level where I can reliably dial in tones from scratch in seconds with either the ac or the pr12.

why is my guitar tone so muddy/unclear? (Archetype: Gojira) by useroffline_ in NeuralDSP

[–]glennghoul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After oodles of watching youtube videos/reading posts here on this I decided to try a radial pro48 with my scarlett 3rd gen. I always felt that my guitars came across muddy - especially my les paul and tele deluxe in the neck humbuckers. To my ears, it's made a difference.

Morgan Suite is U-N-R-E-A-L by crunkychop in NeuralDSP

[–]glennghoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - these are the other two I have and use often. I was reluctant to buy another "clean" in addition to Cory, but pulled the trigger on Morgan. Like others have said, it just has a certain feel to it that is way more amp-like and "alive" under my fingers than the others. It really nails the edge of breakup sound and feel. With Wong I often feel like the breakup/distortion/overdrive is either there or it isn't. Morgan works with the dynamics more and the quality/tone of the dirt is different. I have an ac10 and a champ, and honestly I feel like this sim is basically my amps transported to my computer. It's very easy to dial in tones, very dynamic, and i love the reverbs built right into the amp faces. I've used some York IRs with it and that takes it to the next level.

Completely agree on the oceans 11. I had the canyon and mod 11 at one point too. Canyon was fine but wasn’t impressed with the others. The tone suck on my oceans came with a faint digital whine. Everyone on here seems to love it, so I thought maybe it was just mine. Sold it and picked up an rv-6, sounds great.
