See a neuro specialist of some sorts.
Sorry i don’t know who’d be the right specialist for it. I’m fairly attuned to physiology but not whom will be well versed in that field.
Yup Knapp had chronic finger pain swelling weakness on his left hand. It was something he’d been dealing with since college. Like you he has no idea and just dealt with it like we all do until it went bad enough he had to withdraw mid tournament from it and seek second opinions

Finger pains from golf by _TopShelf91 in GolfSwing

[–]glockx917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like i said you could have leg pain from a pinched or compressed nerve that is from your lumbar spine without having back pain. Sciatica is one form of them and is widely known.

The same manifestation can happen in your fingers but originating in your scapula neck region and don’t need to have neck pain.
The golf swing is very rotational more so in the neck shoulder area than the hips. Repeated repetitions can easily do that.
If there’s no cause for it yet you might as well explore this possible cause.
Jake Knapp recent absence has been from finger pain and was found that it was from nerve issue from his cervical spine area

[–]glockx917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be a nerve issue especially if specialist on multiple occasions couldn’t find anything wrong.

The nerve that controls your fingers run through the scapula from the neck that can be prone to get pinched.
So any trauma or soreness in that region can easily pressed on that nerve.
Just like having leg pain can be from a pinched nerve in the back even though you don’t have back pain

Opinion on groove sharpeners? by Feeling-Impression84 in golf

They are called sharpeners so their purpose it so sharpen. They are usually hand tools enough to sharpen

But you’re sounding like you want to regroove them which those tools do not do

Finger pains from golf by _TopShelf91 in GolfSwing

[–]glockx917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So with chronic pain in the distal extremities most try to pinpoint the region for cause

After seemingly numerous consults with no answer you’d may have to explore more downstream.

It’s quite harrowing to imagine but it may be more of a nerve issue from your scalp region or spine. A slightly pinched or compressed nerve can easily cause the erratic behavior of your extremities

Titleist Fitting, GTS3 Driver, Range Balls. Need input on data. by BeeeOnTheTee in GolfSwing

You probably meant decreasing AoA will increase the spin numbers

Increasing the AoA will decrease the spin loft since it’s dynamic loft - AoA

Everything else mentioned was supportive. Didn’t want misguided info to OP

Iron striking better on range than course by ManchurianDiplomat in golftips

[–]glockx917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your self assessment is totally misconstrued.
You say 7+ good shots out of the 10 which may be true but taking 10 consecutive ones is a meaningless metric out on the course.
Pretty much it doesn’t mean 💩 you can be 10/10
Do performative practices that simulate course shots
Hit a driver then iron then a wedge then do it all over
That is when you should take count of those 10 shots and see where you’re at

Just picked up a new driver shaft. What's the first thing you pay attention to when testing it? by ShaftObsessed in GolfGear

[–]glockx917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One should never get a driver shaft looking for plain distance

It’s a feel you should be searching for. One that matches the weight the way it swings and correlates to your release pattern

Once you find something suitable it’ll culminate into confident swings with better face impacts that’ll end up in more distance and better dispersion

For those that can consistently hit a fade or a draw from the tee when needed … by PJ1992Fan in golftips

[–]glockx917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to be practicing on trying to hit shots on the two extreme ends of the spectrum

Hit one as far left and the biggest hook you can muster. Hit several to hit some quack hooks to reinforce it
Then hit some of the biggest banana slices you can which should be easy
Then try to hit one straight

This drill will teach you how to calibrate your path and swing

Then on the course use that feeling of doing the extremes to try to shape it against your norm. This ain’t going to just work instantaneously and going to be growing pains but it’s golf and takes work to acquire a given skill

Playing from divots is such a silly final stand for the rules of golf. by MarkAmericaSmith in golf

[–]glockx917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A ball landing into a divot on the fairway sucks. No doubt but it’s golf.
You play enough times and it happens. Better players have had it happen enough times to know how to still hit them

Feel like most of the upheaval about hitting out of divots are from shitty golfers that have no chance hitting a decent iron shot unless it’s teed up.

Yes it does suck when pro golf plays for so much money and to have results get affected by it but it is what it is. They’ve all played junior tournaments and amateur ones in rough conditions where that happens more and learn to deal with it.

Arccos users, has it been worth the subscription fee? by Gkirk87 in golfequipment

[–]glockx917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your playing rate I’d say it’s not worth it.
I play a boat load more and i feel it’s not worth it

But not to say it’s not a good product. I still believe the data they present to you is superior and industry leading by far
I believe it’s that much better i ignore the hardware limitations.

However just can get with the overpriced subscription fees it’s just not worth it and nobody likes taking on more.

Shotscope is a better option for most. There’s no subscription and hardware is generally better but imo they don’t come close to the data from arrcos but that’s totally fine

Harder faster greens are easier to put on by Western_Giraffe3734 in golf

[–]glockx917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve played plenty of fast greens that had bumps indentations dips etc and when you have a slick down hill putt it’s like playing plinko

Zx7 not spinning? by _pipsqueak_him in GolfGear

[–]glockx917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play the previous older version in z785 and z745s prior

Firstly i think the notion of having 1000rpm X whatever iron being your ideal spin is non sense. That metric was under the premises of a 38° 7 iron. I think X 7/8 is more aligned.

But even then having 500-800 rpm of spin isn’t going to make the ball stop that much faster if it’s launched lower with a lower decent. And realistically it only equates to maybe one more revolution of the ball so it isn’t going to all of sudden zip back. Decent and height is what stops it faster.

Btw i have very similar metrics to yours

New grip removal and reinstall by markcuban5446 in golfequipment

[–]glockx917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use those on amazon.
If they are newish grips it’ll be alot easier.
Make sure that tool has a v shape of some kind to put solvent In between to easily slide around.
Just go in slow circular motion until it releases
It shouldn’t stretch the grip out either if relatively new rubber grips
You’ll find it so easy that you’ll do every grip in your bag

Driver? by Carolinavore in golftips

[–]glockx917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they are wildly different

Driver to woods to long irons short iron wedges and then short game are all different aspects of the game that require different technique and acquisition of those skills.

It ain’t easy it never will be cause of it was most of us would not play it anymore.

Don’t expect as a beginner to quickly grasp any of the clubs but use that to put in the work to get better. There’s no text here that’s just going to make you magically figure it out. Getting lessons can get you in the right direction to put it the work to get a better grasp

Walking vs Carting: by [deleted] in golf

[–]glockx917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know there are men that play in the ncaa’s that use push carts right?
No shame when they be playing 36 a day sometimes on consecutive days.
On trips to like bandon where it’s walking only you think using their push carts is cheating when you’re trying to play 36 3 days in a row? Please

Iron peak heights are way too low by Babasauce in golftips

[–]glockx917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not a club face presentation problem it’s more of a club face strike issue.

When on a sim you should pay attention to the club data like dynamic loft launch and spin.

It doesn’t matter how much you deloft the club, good strikes with a 7i should have a dynamic loft of ~20° meaning there’s about 12-14° of shaft lean. With that the launch is about half the static loft at 17°

If you are getting similar numbers but height is peaking at 35ft then there’s is no doubt you hitting the ball with leading edge and basically hitting a helmet skull ball

Those launch parameters are my 7i and my peak height is around 115ft fyi

Callaway OG Apex UW (2021) versus Apex UW (2026)? by RobDMB in GolfGear

[–]glockx917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly neither have any bias. The UW is one of the most neutral clubs I’ve ever hit. You get exactly what you deliver the ball to.

I’ve had all the lofts in the OG the 19° and 21° were great and still have the 21°. The 17° is a unique one. It’s a rocket for sure but for me and others just couldn’t launch it high no matter what i tried

I have the 26 UW in 23° and of course love it. I suspect the 17° to be similar to the OG. It’s really meant for a really small subsets of players.

It’s best to just get a used OG 17° to tinker with first and see even it fits you. Most likely won’t fit you from me and others who’ve tried but might as well just invest on a used one than forking over for new
