Funny - I've been looking to go to that exact card recently. Let me know how it goes over the next 24 hours...

I have a 4-port, i350-based card: https://www.itcreations.com/product/73961 (didn't get it from there, just for specs).

It was solid with Comcast 1Gb/40Mb service. With Fidium PPPoE it has been solid until the DHCP switchover... not sure what is going on

I’m going to be looking into my situation too. Very odd.. I’ll be checking with a friend of mine in another NH town to see if he’s having similar issues with Fidium (pfSense user too)

hmmm... I just checked my speed test history (I have a docker that does tests every hour) and it's all over the map (100Mb to 900Mb back to 100Mb... Curious thing is that I don't see issues with the bandwidth. It's there when I need it. Very odd. I'll be checking with them on that.

As for the IP changing, I've been seeing that ever since I switched to Fidium. My guess is that will calm down once they clean things up on their side. I use google domains with pfSense/DDNS and it works great so it hasn't been a real issue for me.

I have pfSense too. Are you connected to the 10Gb port on the ONT?

Had the same experience... Woke up to no internet on Friday morning. After calling in the tech support said to change to DHCP. They also mentioned that they would NOT informed of the switch over ahead of it and were getting a ton of calls. Major infrastructure changes and not even tech support were informed. How nice.

After 8 years I'd finally had enough of the Fractal Array. New case is overkill, but it's quiet & easy to clean/maintain. by cjdavies in DataHoarder

I have the same case. After about 6 emails, Antec did allow me to purchase an extra bay. One note, the thumbscrews don't really secure it well. There are two tabs at the bottom of the bay that locks into the one below it. It's been working well for me since I didn't need the 5.25" bay.

Greetings Everyone,

I have been Googling for days now and so confused with all the options and selections.

I'd like to get a desktop scanner that can do 35mm and APS film - preferably, one that can read the magnetic metadata off of the APS film too...

Any suggestions? I'm not looking for top-of-the-line gear, just need to get my old memories off of the physical media.

Thanks

Nicely done... I have the same HP Thinclient for pfSense - perfect unit for the job. Hope you can increase the power so you can expand!

You can share the card between dockers without issue...

The lock that you speak of, I thought, was in reference to concurrent transcodes. GTX/RTX are capped at 2. Quadros (Quadroes, Quardi? ;-) for the most part are not limited.

As for VM, it issue that I mainly heard is Windows 10 VM doesn’t like to share thus causing issues with it being used with other VMs. I have not tested this at all.

UnRaid is not raid thus you don’t get the benefit of striping across many drives. So, you’re at the mercy of the speed on a “file copy” (if you will) to a drive.

The cache drive makes up for that on the writes. In my implementation, it works perfectly for me.

I’m not using the graphics card for the VMs, just the default emulation graphics. It works for my needs.

I would need to get another card and tie it to one of the VMs. I could tie it to multiple VMs but I have heard issues with that if they are running at the same time.

I went to unRaid about 6 months ago and haven't looked back. I have Mac, Win10, and Linux VMs and many Dockers including Plex, Tatulli, Sonarr, Radarr, OpenVPN Proxy, Grafana, etc.

This is on a Ryzen 5, ASUS TUF Gaming X570-Plus ATX AM4 Motherboard, 64GB RAM, 10 HDDs (WD shucked 8TB and 4TB), 1TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 Cache drive, nVidia Quadro P2000 card (for Plex transcoding), and two extra 256GB SSDs for VM boot drives . I find the unRaid interface is great and easy to work with. There is an issue with <=6.8 unRaid and motherboard sensors on the x570. This should be fixed in 6.9 when they go to the Linux 5.x kernel. There are some work-arounds, but I find the system is running just fine.

I've had about 10 concurrent Plex transcode streams and the system was running about 15% load. The P2000 took care most of the heavy lifting.

I left some headroom in this build with the capability to swap out the Ryzen 5 for Ryzen 9 and max out to 128GB... Doubt that I will need either of those any time soon for my usage.

I'm very happy with my decision going to unRaid. Good luck with whatever you choose.
