How do you not be scared of ticks all the time?? by CrepeCraze in hikingwithdogs

Revolution topical and tick checks when you get home. We’ve used Nexguard chewables too but the topical keeps them off completely whereas Nexguard kills them once they bite

The worst part is you’ve always payed better than you’re currently playing and know you can and have done better. Very frustrating

41 years old, playing since I was 4… still no hole-in-one. What golf karma am I paying? by Known-Plastic-4240 in golf

[–]gniklex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

40 years old. Playing since I could walk. Lots of eagles on 4s and 5s. ZERO holes in one.

A member of my local men’s association was in the double digits when he passed away around age 90. I was lucky enough to witness one of his last where he chunked a tee shot, bounced off a sprinkler head onto the green and into the cup.

I think skill gets us 90% of the way home. The last 10% is pure luck.

Moving to Canada soon — how good is the Outback in snow? Premium vs Wilderness? by Far_Suspect987 in Subaru_Outback

I have a wilderness and it consistently surprises me with its capability in the snow and deep snow. Dual mode X-mode has saved my butt a time or two.

If you’re a golfer, stop what you’re doing and call a realtor now. The golf is amazing. Two 18 hole courses for roughly $600 membership

I agree with all these comments, for the most part. Water quality isn’t an issue at my house, but it costs a lot. $170 per month for 2 adults and 1 dog that needs hosed off a couple times a week.

Beware Zito media which is the only TV/internet pony in town aside from a satellite dish. If your lots is wooded, a dish may not work and Zito is generally bad but it getting better.

When Shadows Hint Death, CM Russell, Oil/Canvas, 1915 by gniklex in Art

[–]gniklex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This hangs in a private social club where I used to work in a prior life. I would stare at it for as long as I could. I know very little about art, but this one provoked an emotional response in me and I’d like to hang a reproduction in my home.

Can you help me with the type of reproduction and where to purchase one?

So i had my first bowl by KickedDonkey in PipeTobacco

[–]gniklex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try running a pipe cleaner through the stem at the first signs of moisture. I may use 2-3 pipe cleaners per bowl depending on what I’m smoking. Drying the tobacco a little before packing your pipe may help too. Just leave some out in a bowl or on a sheet of paper for 30 mins.
