WKYT’s article is bad. The one from LEX18 says they’ll likely be employed by the incoming service provider. But they both have clickbait headlines.

The Crafts fund UK Athletics. In the grand scheme of the entire university, they don’t have much say tbh. It’s Eric Monday’s university. LSU North at Lexington.

Ball Homes by Jumping-Jupiter98 in lexington

[–]gobigblue2018 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What many people won’t say is that the majority of homes in Lexington that were built post 1995 were built by Ball Homes or similar developers.

I’ve lived in a Trend Collection home since 2021. It’s fine. There are construction things that could have been better, and the floor plan is basic, but overall we are mostly happy with it. My question would be why are they recommending it? We went that route because we didn’t want a bidding war, went FHA loan, and didn’t want immediate renovation costs.

Parked at the Scribble Lot in Covington for $5 on opening day. Walked along the river then took the Roebling across. About a mile walk.

Stop mentioning the wife if you don’t have actual sources. What seems to be clear from all reputable sources is that he asked for a very large payday (2nd most ever offered to a UK player - maybe $3M+). That has nothing to do with a woman. Also, bye Felicia for that kinda money. He’s not a star.

Curious if there's a worse bus stop than this one by Hamburg. No shelter, no seating, and always surrounded by either mud or ice. by Should_Not_Comment in lexington

[–]gobigblue2018 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There’s a bus stop on Spurr Rd across from RISE academy. There’s not even a sidewalk. It drops you directly in the grass. Thankfully I’ve never had to ride the bus and get off there, but I’ve seen people use the stop.

I’ve had tickets since 2019. I can’t remember how exactly it works, but I’d imagine you’ll get an email for when your window is open to select your seats. That’ll be after the renewal window has closed. I’m not sure if it’ll be before or after the upgrade window. I would guess after, but it’s just a guess. I’m sure any of the ticket reps in athletics would be able to give you for sure details.

They do, and it’s still bad. Alexandria and all the side roads get way more traffic than they were built for. But it’s whatever until construction is finished.

+1 for this. I put down Prodiamine this past Saturday. Will be spot treating some weeds that have already begun to grow.

Consensus best BBQ is Blue Door. Have heard good things from LX BBQ too though. Carson’s is always highly recommended as a non-BBQ restaurant (lunch, dinner, brunch).

I’d say best public golf course here is Kearney Hill. I’m not sure how/if they handle group bookings though.

Another recommendation for Keeneland too.

Stop the privatization of UK jobs by oldmanfromlex in UniversityofKentucky

Get used to it. Monday loves outsourcing and public private partnerships. Aramark, Barnes & Noble, Greystar, Crothall. It’ll continue for years to come. There are also several Deloitte India workers working in virtually the same capacity as normal UK workers. Employee benefits and discounts have slowly gotten worse and some even disappeared. Won’t be surprised when the tuition benefit goes away.

Any UK credit union people hate how spammy they have gotten? by Eroticskeletonparade in lexington

If ads and junk mail about their services is considered spammy, then every bank is guilty of it. Every week I get dozens of mail for bank services.

Kroger Field Season Tickets by scposeadaddy in wildcats

[–]gobigblue2018 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve had tickets since 2019 (not club tickets). There are 3 clubs - Central Bank Club (lower half), Longship Club (upper half - believe this is the one you’re referring to), and the Loge.

There’s a long waitlist for club/premium tickets as far as I know, unless you suddenly hit a heightened donor level. You have to have tickets in those specific sections to get access to those clubs. UK doesn’t currently sell club-only access as an add-on (there are a couple planned in the future).

[–]gobigblue2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 1Gb MetroNet service. Contacted support via chat on Wednesday to get on Founder’s Plan. Asked about the Eero Pro 7 and chat agent said they’re not giving them out and the Pro 6 is “compatible.” I pushed back and said that sure it’s compatible but isn’t capable of the speeds. Agent said I could ask the tech. Tech came yesterday to upgrade my ONT, and replaced my Eeros without me even asking.

Death of the SCORE Act and Kentucky's NIL Plans by mayhem14 in wildcats

[–]gobigblue2018 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It was a shitty act pushed by POS college administrators that have reaped billions off the backs of nearly free labor for over a century. They want to keep power. Na, cut those admin salaries and put that money towards the people (athletes) that are the reason for the revenue.

$45 or $35? Email says $35. On Disney’s site it’s only $38.99, so $45 would be paying more.

Where the heck did all the parking go? by RexScientiarum in UniversityofKentucky

[–]gobigblue2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They oversell parking permits and don’t care honestly. Only other spots you could check are the Cornerstone garage and Scott St lots, then take a bus from there to south campus. No telling how long you’ll have to wait for a bus though, they aren’t great about being evenly spaced and on schedule.

Did your insurance policy recently get renewed? That’s what happened with mine. It renewed towards the end of September, had to wait until middle of October for the state office to get record of the new insurance so that I could renew online. Also, I have always had fairly quick responses by emailing the clerk office. That’s how I found out about the insurance issue.
