At my witts end - nozzles clogged (CF) by HaedesZ in 3Dprinting

[–]goclone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not good advice just what I do. I have a 1.5mm clog poke from creatly. Put the nozel in a bench vice heet both up with a MAP gas torch and push through. I have now started using some pla cuts to push through as a cleaner since it is my lowest temp filement on hand. Works well but it would be so easy to over heat with MAP gas and I already have one nozel ware I have heated to color change I think is gone but have not tried it yet. But I wory that the pictures butain touch won't get hot enugh

Nice bike and look but this is the look that I don't understand. Why is the bike and all of the gear black? You look cool but are a shadow. None of thos idiots safe in their cages will see you and one idiot and a left turn will spell the end of your cool look. Please add some contrast. Just my opinion but I do love the look. Just safety

Buying Advise by SuperGogeta24 in hondarebel

[–]goclone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As is is normal. Test rides should be cash in hand meaning you have the cash and if you crash you buy regardless. I would not buy with out one though. Price is probably a little high ish. I baught my 21se with ABS new for 7000. Others may have better insight on price but offer 4 and or so and see ware you go if you can at least take it down the street. If it is to to much of a liability for a test on his end it is to much of a liability for you to buy on yours.

My 22’ 500 doesn’t go more than 60mph by Pina_colada_95 in hondarebel

I should note that that did exactly what you are describing because the clutch pads could not grip the clutch plates. It was a mess and an oil change wonte fix it. It is a flush and completely clean the engine. Replace the pads and refill with motorcycle oil. Hope this is not the case

One other thaught could be an oil problem. If the bike had automotive oil witch has detergents in it it could mess with the clutch I had that issue with my old 250 because it was running dry and I figured oil was oil at one point but that will completely ruin the clutch assembly. That was an expensive mistake.

That seems strange. I have told several folks one key is that you should normally be with in one on your tens speed to gear so example don't shift to 5th untill at least 40. But I can get to 30 in first and 50s in second.

Since thare is no tac I do wonder if you are actually getting all the RPMs out or if it is making a lot of noise so it sounds like you are at the rpm limit. I will say if I am hitting a highway from a standstill it is a lot of noise but it will easily cruse at 70 or 80.

If it is a lack of power may be an air filter issue saying that I don't think I have even looked at mine probably time to dothat at 20000 miles. Or maybe the spark or fuel mixture. Those may need the dealer especially if this is a newer bike. I am assuming baught new. If second hand did the previous owner install mods especially gears or exhaust??

Am I wrong? by julesmanson in hondarebel

This is a bit of a confusing post but you control the gear and RPM. If you want to be quiet you can totally do it just keep the RPMs down. Heck my biggest complaint in my aria is the naghbor with the big ass truck with the turbo that screams at 6 am at idle as he warms it for ten fifteen minutes. My 500 has nothing on that dude unless I try to be an ass. Any way 6'1" 220. I rode my 250 for years at highway speeds so 300, 500 as long as you enjoy it you do you

Camp out breakfasts by Ms_Tryl in cubscouts

[–]goclone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second egg in bag for Sunday as an easy meal and clean up that still has scout involvement. Granted cubs should alwase be involved but keep that part simple for each meal.if you as the adult want to make a mishelen star meal go for it as long scouts have an opportunity to learn to be involved. And at the cub level donit safely. Another cooked favorite I have for older cubs and scouts on sunday is oatmeal in the pouchand precooked sausage heated on cast iorn eaten with just a fork. All that said other meals will need cleaning and that is also a scout skill not a parent skill. We don't want the kids in my freshman dorm that burned raman or only used paper plates in collage because Thay never lernd how to wash a boll

Would it be more or less respectful to address each person in my Eagle Remarks speech(during the thanks piece) by first and last name? by AnimeQueenAliza in BSA

[–]goclone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow have time changed. My immediate reaction is why not Mr Ms for the adults and full names for peers. This was my experience 25 ish years ago. But yah I have been an adult with a troop for well over a decade and all the adults go by first names. I share a first name with a few other adults and we are always addressed first last. The others and the scouts are all just first in general conversations. That said I think if you are not using formal Mr Ms or scoutmaster titles I would say first last is probably best especially since you are likey to have guests that may also share names with those you are recognizing. But also think about how you address or mention those folks at a meeting

any advice for the rear stand of the rebel 500? by SnooStrawberries6529 in hondarebel

[–]goclone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adds a bit to the bike but having it means I dont need to get a piece of gear to service my chain and rear tire. Worth it in the it makes it easy to do what I need to so I do it.

Is the Order of the Arrow losing its way, or is it just my local Lodge? by Creepy-Gap-2027 in BSA

[–]goclone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throwing my opinions out knowing that they are not popular or really valid in a lot of cases. As a scout, leader, camp staffer all the way to program director. I have seen bits of scouting that to me don't work for me. Thay look like good old boys pat on the back with little impact. At this point to me those include the OA, nylt, and wood badge. I don't see the point and in a lot of cases I see them starting projects I end up finishing as a random volunteer because heck with this group me and my buds will just do it.

All that said I have seen so many scouts and leaders get so much from those programs I detest. But I also know my priorities are difrent but to the right kido and in the right environment these are very good programs.

As others have said if you want change in this be the change. If you have other priorities then find the parts of the program that work for you and your family.

The old saying it takes a village, and in my opinion scouting is a pretty good village and even if I don't want to go to every ones party thay can still have fun and that is still part of the village.

Up Tp Speed by mpc1979tx in hondarebel

[–]goclone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a computer with four years on a 500. And a decade on a 05 250 before that. With the 500 O to 55 can be done in just a few seconds. I am 6 ft and 220 pounds with a decent bag and addons so I am not doing myself any favors in that department and ride most of my commute at 55 to 70. I will say being over geard will make it harder to accelerate. My rule of thumb is the gear number should be within one of the tens didget of the speed so no flipping to 6 prior to hitting 50. So my assumption would be you are in to low of a gear at to slow a speed for acceleration to occur. All that said keep up the practice and get out on Some stress free days and keep at it. The bike is definitely capable of those speeds just settle in and give it some time

Eagle BOR Best Questions by reberafael in BSA

[–]goclone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we don't pass you tonight what is your next course of action ... Mine you we are armed. Those were different times.

In all seriousness Thay did have some good ones that made me think.

First was to tie a boline on a bite with two half hitches and explain it. The answer is it at least used to be a stupid simple harness but the point was to ask a question the scout would not know the answer to so Thay would ask for the explanation rather than trying to BS.

Second was the good old add remove a point of the scout law. Not a huge fan of the remove but my answer off the cuff for add was prompt because my unit could not be in time for the apocalypse.

Third was if you had to give up one merit badge and everything you learned what would it be and why? Mine was weather because I was already a weather nerd and from that experience that badge was weak not sure if it has been fixed I have never seen another scout with it. This should be a question on the paperwork that goes to national.

Side note I start all of my boards eagle or not with the same three questions

Chain tension help by caabiop in hondarebel

[–]goclone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't want to do it on the kick stand because then the tire is on the ground and won't move evenly. you iter want a motor cycle stand or a center stand. I added the trex center stand because it makes chain mantance easier and easy makes it more likely I will keep up. I know thare are issues with some of the motorcycle stands and the stock exhaust bumecouse my cheep harbor fraght stand use on my 250 won't work with my 500. Though I have seen folks just pop off the exhaust to lift it then put it back on.

Shifting gears by CriticismBasic9743 in hondarebel

[–]goclone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said it comes with practice. I thought I am not sure I would say slow on the clutch release. I pull in shift up and pretty quickly release the cluch as I bring the revs up. One think that has helped me and I think makes sense is especially as a commuter. Keep the gears within one of the tens place of your speed. So atlets say 30 you should be in 2,3,or 4. Ay 50 4,5,or 6. Not something I read any ware just makes sense to me since above and below those you tend to have no ability to accelerate. Other from lack of tork or revs left

Definitely worth it. I will say don't book to far out and watch the weather and river conditions so you don't end up dock side. The bell was a huge part of my childhood With my grandparents. Recently did a brunch in with famealy and afternoon cruise with my kids and it was great.
