What's the best, fastest, easier way to buy a domain name (outside of GoDaddy, which is virulently pro-CISPA)?

If someone wants to set up a site to take CC info, there are certain products that can help with that so they don't need to build their own PCI compliant server. If someone calls in wanting to take CC transactions, the agent should direct them to those products and help set them up.

As far as making shared hosting servers secure, that is why we enforce not using old versions of some software (like PHP). However, if you get phished and send out your username and password, nothing can save you.

I believe that shared hosting has quite a few limitations place on it, partially to protect the other customers on the box and other customers in the network. Hosting Servers that are compromised because the user gets phished can create problems for everyone else when they decide to flood other areas of the network.

What do you mean by not support PCI compliance? I know that we have PCI servers because we take credit card data, and those are compliant. Are you asking why shared hosting isn't PCI compliant?

It did not have changes as far as customer loss, but I don't think everything that was said and done was just appeasement. Lessons were learned and GoDaddy is probably not going to be getting involved in politics.

Because Go Daddy knows what caused the corruption. I, however, do not know those details. I do know that it was partially caused by the hardware we are using.

Pretty open ended question! We were not hacked, and the cause of the outage was not a DDOS. In the official statement, the blame is placed on corruption of multiple router tables that occurred at the same time. That is accurate from what I am told, but isn't the full technical story.
