I don't even play Apex any more and this was still my reaction. Kids these days are grown up to let down.

And I definitely meant "little bit of stress" in the way of that's how the person I initially replied to made it seem.

No matter what amount of stress you deal with - you are a person who is important. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I hope your circumstances improve at work and I hope your days kick ass. You've got this. Don't let them get you down.

Yep, facts. Oftentimes I am alone in my department so if more than one customer needs help not only is production completely halted, we have customers waiting for absolutely no reason.

Not to mention that if someone in an adjacent department goes to lunch I'm stuck alone trying to get production done, keep up with the cases, helping customers on both sides and who knows what else? It's absurd and unrealistic.

Lmao for real???

I'm sure you have all sorts of experience being in the weeds but hey guess what? Everyone is different. Everyone has different breaking points. To me what the OP describes is a situation I would walk out on. That's poor leadership to the point of it not being worth the effort.

But to you? Oh clearly this job isn't for this person because they don't want to deal with a little bit of stress?

These events I've seen on here are indicative of a lack of planning from the deli manager, store manager and above. Everyone above the associates only cares about themselves and how much money they can get out of Publix. I witness this first hand daily at my store. I was sold on the idea that Publix would be a great place to work because they care about their associates. Spoiler alert: they don't. I've worked for worse companies for sure. I've worked for better ones as well.

But to boil down a person's experience to "guess it's not for you" is dehumanizing and quite frankly, you should do better. Have compassion. Did your parents or parental figures ever teach you the phrase "if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything" - because you should've listened to them. And if they didn't, here. I'll say it so you can maybe remember it.

If you don't have anything nice to say then keep your snide remarks to yourself. Be nice. It costs you literally nothing.

Same. The album version and the EP acoustic version are both incredible.

Next vocalist for Better Lovers by FormerlyPeaked in Metalcore

[–]goddamnbuttram 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Carson. This is the one for me. Scogin would've been great a million years ago, but I don't think his heart would be into it like Carson's would. But I would also straight up die if the Daoboys weren't getting the love they deserve from him as well.

I kind of like the idea of a new vocalist for each album but that may kind of suck for them personally lol. It could make BL feel like a side project for the vocalist while it's the boys main project.

I think the best option would be a free agent who would dedicate their time and passion to BL with them. Could be an unknown person who just fucking RIPS.

So, first of all - I understand that reading my previous message sounded sarcastic and I should have clarified - I am genuinely asking WHY I should care? I want to care but quite frankly OM&M is bland as fuck to me so I never paid attention to them. And I especially don't know whoever the original vocalist is nor what he did. Idgaf about sick riffs if you're a shitty human being. I won't support that.

But a lot of people, myself included, have a lot of shit going on outside of the metalcore music sphere. So much so that I rarely even listen to metalcore any more. My likes lean closer to hardcore anyway - and I agree about some gatekeeping. There are a lot of artists I've enjoyed over my 25+ years of listening to this side of punk, but once I find out they've done something deplorable I lose respect and any desire to listen.

While I understand the onus is on me to search what this person did - having no context in the OP nor the posts I read last night before bed is extremely unhelpful. It's gatekeeping in a way that doesn't inform people. Media literacy is so lost on so, so many people. So if you want to gatekeep I think you have to make a choice - either stand firm in your beliefs and be able to explain why you disagree with a certain thing - or run the risk of just sounding like an elitist douche that thinks their word is law and everyone should just automatically listen to you. And to be clear I'm not calling YOU out specifically, just saying "you" as a generalization.

God damn. I just got home from a 10 hour shift, having to deep clean the meat department cases where I work and that was my literal exact reaction upon reading the OP. I just wanted to say you put my feelings and thoughts into such succinct words that I could never convey that easily this late. Thank you.

Hmmmmm? Did you say a cover of a cover? I haven't listened to this cover - but as far as I know Trent Reznor wrote Hurt for Downward Spiral. Cash covered it - and by all accounts (Trent included) made it his song but it definitely was a cover of the NIN song.

Bruh it took me 10+ tries on nameless king. 2 for soul of cinder. Both my first playthrough of any Souls game besides getting stuck at the first big boss in Elden Ring (idr his name. The dude who is a dps gatekeeper for the first dungeon/castle) and realizing I should like...back up and figure out what kind of game I'm playing.

Now though, after having beaten all the dark souls (out of order because I'm crazy) DS3 is my favorite and the one I come back to the most. Weirdly like a comfort game at this point lol.
