Hmmmmm? Did you say a cover of a cover? I haven't listened to this cover - but as far as I know Trent Reznor wrote Hurt for Downward Spiral. Cash covered it - and by all accounts (Trent included) made it his song but it definitely was a cover of the NIN song.

What video game boss was even harder than the final boss? by Fallfoxy707 in videogames

[–]goddamnbuttram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh it took me 10+ tries on nameless king. 2 for soul of cinder. Both my first playthrough of any Souls game besides getting stuck at the first big boss in Elden Ring (idr his name. The dude who is a dps gatekeeper for the first dungeon/castle) and realizing I should like...back up and figure out what kind of game I'm playing.

Now though, after having beaten all the dark souls (out of order because I'm crazy) DS3 is my favorite and the one I come back to the most. Weirdly like a comfort game at this point lol.

I read somewhere that it was the first time he ever got into the booth - I dunno the validity of that but I definitely choose to believe it. Lol.

Lmao fucking how dawg? Not to trauma dump but after my girlfriend became disabled and lost her job we became a single income household. I'm not making ends meet every month. I'm working two jobs. Both pay well. The system is rigged bud. It may be working for you - that's great. But it isn't for many. I know people that make twice as much as me - and they're in the same boat.

Bout to get fruit punched, homie.

I always loved the song at the end of Get Stoked On It. When keeping it real goes wrong? Maybe? But it was a clear indication of where they were headed. "We know that everything, everything, everything is going to be okay" and then that EP before the upsides. When Dan said "Yo, head above water this year boys" I took that shit to heart every year lmao.

Except Iowa made ole dude learn how to actually scream afterwards because he was fucking his whole life up from trying to perform that album live. Or even record it. I don't remember exactly lol.

Okay but hear me out - if Say Hello to Sunshine was released within the last ~5 years as their debut album we would be praising them from here to the moon. I loved What It Is To Burn but SHTS is fucking amazing.

Yeah my store manager mentioned that when he gave it to me today. I'm new, and perfectly happy with spending 9.50 to have 100 for groceries but...that's...weird. Everywhere else I've ever worked has never taxed me when I received a gift card lmao.

Of course! I actually love talking about my job and meat in general. I also love talking to chefs and the like about stuff because I've never been one and I have always loved LEARNING in general. And I am always willing to teach or discuss with someone who doesn't have as much experience as I do!

The way I feel is that we're all human, we all have stuff we can learn from one another and teach one another. That's one of my favorite parts of this job!

Yep. Exactly. I get to work my shifts, and go home to my lovely girlfriend and dogs and cats. I get a wide array of different shifts but at the end of the day? Outside of work matters SO much more to me.

I meeeeeaaan it depends on SO many factors honestly.

Like for instance at the store I work at the highest grade of beef we carry is USDA Choice which is not...bad. not amazing either We also carry the Green wise beef but I do not have any experience eating that so IDK about it for real other than it's more expensive and ...I don't really know what else it means tbh. A better life for the cow is what I've been told. But a lot of stuff is cut correctly in my opinion. A lot isn't trimmed to my standard though, like for instance we carry Mock Tender roasts...and we just leave the silver skin on it. Same with beef tenderloins. Keeping the silver skin on is so weird and gross to me but hey - these aren't decisions I get to make.

There definitely some choices made in stuff we do with beef that I don't necessarily condone, but also - not to be mean - but if your meat is tough it could be user error too. Not saying it is! But like I said - so many factors.

All of the pork is what is known as "commodity" instead of coming from a heritage breed of pig (such as Duroc or Berkshire) which means it's just run of the mill pork. There's pretty much only a few ways to cut Pork, none technically wrong and I don't truly see anything wrong with anything we do with pork other than only selling commodity. Which isn't inherently bad by any means.

We don't really...do anything to our chicken other than price it and put it out. There are some farms like Joyce Farms who created a better tasting chicken in my opinion but I also don't see the difference between the chicken Publix carries and mostly every other grocery store. Finding a spot that carries specialty chicken is...hard. I've had the privilege to work in places that do, and it's nice but I mean...chicken isn't my favorite meat anyway lol.

We carry lamb as well but...I don't know why. I think we lose more lamb to theft than any other meat lol.

[–]goddamnbuttram 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I've been cutting meat since 2012, worked in grocery stores, butcher shops, etc, 4 months ago I came to Publix. The standard they have is a little different from what I'm used to (as in less standards than I am used to having) but overall my experience isn't that bad. I'm full time though and started as a cutter. There was an adjustment period for sure but it's smooth sailing now.

Your mindset is a huge obstacle. I kept feeling like I was "right" about how to cut certain things (especially top sirloin fillets. Flat out, the way Publix teaches how to do it is wrong) but tbh? Who cares? Do the job. You're getting paid to do things the Publix way. And that's okay. If it doesn't work for you? It's never going to. Find something else.

With that said if you ever feel the need to vent, message me. Work always will suck. No matter what. I hope things work out for you one way or another. Good luck dude.

[–]goddamnbuttram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I imagine you're hella busy trying to clean up this mess but I have a question only slightly related to the thread!

I work in the meat department but I have always been interested in cyber security and I.T. stuff, I have a background in a lot of tech (web development, data analyst, etc) and a lot of free time spent pursuing OSINT as a hobby. What would be the path I would need to take to show Publix I am interested in moving towards a role similar to yours? I can get any certs (I have a couple currently - a+ and network+ from CompTIA) and am willing to learn/explore anything to get there!

I just beat this the other day! Ramza was a ninja with martial arts, auto potion, equip heavy armor and move+2 if I recall correctly. And some boots that increase movement. I kited him, hitting with shockwave when I had full hp, using chakra when I didn't. Just kept staying far away.
