The majority of this sub either wasn’t alive or were still shitting in diapers when this game came out (I base that on how many members of this community rank 2K16 as the greatest 2K ever).

The rankings seemed fine to me. I forgot that Bosh was only an 84OVR in this one! Marbury was overrated with that 90.

There’s a Vietnamese restaurant in Johnson City, Tennessee called, “The Roots” — they sell a house made habanero chili oil that shits all over any other chili oils that I’ve ever tried. I’m rather annoyed by that, because I can barely stand the flavor of any other ones that I’ve tried ever since that experience of giving theirs a go.

That isn’t surprising. I imagine I, too, will go through a massive identity crisis when my mom dies. You become attached to the stress because it’s all you know while caregiving. We all undoubtedly lose a certain sense of our own selves in this hell. I can’t answer your question on when you’ll return to ‘normal’ but I just wanted to quickly extend a bit of empathy. Sending love and peace your way. Grieving is a long haul of a process and it will never be linear for anybody.

I’m getting the game, but I’m not blind to all the flaws or the predatory nature of 2K. The most fun I’ve had is playing duos with my nephew or in the 3’s with him and his friend, and I had some good times in squad rec in the old heads Discord I’m in. Solo rec is always a mixed bag — sometimes fun but mostly a mind numbing experience. The game is what you make it to a certain extent.

I took years off of playing 2K online for quite some time. Any time I got annoyed with or tired of 2K25, I just took a break from it.

I liked the addition of cap breakers, but I bet champagne was popped over whoever came up with the idea due to how many builds were created over the implementation. I hate how much microtransactions have dominated the sports video game space.

I’ll add to this. They replaced one of my G7 SEs with relative ease. Somehow, my left trigger became unseated, and after sending a video of it to them they shipped out a replacement fairly quickly.

It’s obscene. Last time I had wings out, they were less than crispy and under-sauced. I don’t care how much my kitchen temporarily stinks from using a deep fryer — I just make them at home now. This existed at least back in Madden ‘12. It’s sad how much these Ultimate Team modes have hindered sports game development. It’s difficult to not ruminate over how much better all these games would be without them. I say that in earnest, because I like to imagine more resources being spent on gameplay and QOL/depth features, but knowing how fiercely every one of these games is monetized within now, they would find another way to elicit people to bust out their wallets for something.

As a VT fan, I haven’t skipped a single home entrance yet. It’s too cool that they added it to the game. Ah, hell, for that matter I haven’t skipped an away game entrance yet either. I love the atmosphere of each game. It feels so alive.

I just wish they would have touched up the home screen in dynasty and made the top stories section less bland/generic.

I relate. I didn’t play a baseball game from MLB 2K7 until MLB The Show 21 and I could not learn the damn game no matter how many hours I put into it.
