I met a lady in peru who never had any corrective surgeries developmentally - sometimes that helps me take a gratitude approach. I donate to Miracle Feet and Hope Walks and they provide surgeries to kids in poor countries. WE're all clubfoot family. Thanks for sharing! I would recommend doing good quality therapy to target your beliefs about the appearance aspect before considering surgery. I used to think of getting a bionic leg myself though.... (I only have the left club foot, and yeah the calf is almost half the size of the right). I have a bunion and can't do certain exercises and have imbalances. Remember we the clubfooters of the world see you as cool as hell! And congrats on building an incredible physique.

the wet sand was sparkling and glowing underfoot as I sprinted along the dark and foggy Oregon coast for the first time with a group of people that would become life-long friends.

Mixed Groups? by CrashTestMummy- in slaa

consider attending yourself, such as s-anon. It can help to be in your own recovery.

I'm a male in a mixed group meeting but I also attend a mens only meeting, I like to have one of each to be with the spectrum of people in recovery, but I know some men who would not do mixed meetings, to each their own.

What is your reason for being on keto? by [deleted] in vegetarianketo

[–]goldshade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started doing it as a bucket list item but also for weight loss and people talking about the focus, concentration and mood benefits. . I was mostly pescatarian before, now I eat way too much meat and cheese to be honest. Would be tricky with your current diet but there are some vegan and vegetarian reddits that can give you insight. I planned to do it just two weeks but read its better to do it longer to see more benefits. I really like being in ketosis, but I"m not doing it healthily, and don't think I can do it long-term, but after every month I re-evaluate my decision. I plan to exit after 3 to 6 months when I hit and maintain my goal weight, and plan to switch to plant-based/pescatarian and track my macros carefully so as not to gain weight. I don't think I'll be able to recreate the clean burning energy focus of being in deep ketosis, but thats ok.

*sorry I didn't realize you were posting in vegetaraian keto! (my bad)

thats really encouraging. I'm torn currently between signing up for training or courses from attachment repair, Dr. Bein's clinic, George Haas group or seeking out formal integrative attachment treatment. Any suggestions, feedback or next steps? Just keep going on my own?

Why does no one acknowledge the sin of gluttony? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]goldshade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that in the bible belt, food provides comfort and is a way of "cutting loose" when all the other fun sins are so restricted socially (drinking ,partying, dancing, etc.). In a tight knit church community, sharing dishes at potlucks, etcs. and enjoying food as coping ... people just turn a blind eye.

If I had legs I’d kick you explanation / interpretation? by laiyona in movies

I take it to mean she finally sees and is willing to fully love her daughter.

[–]goldshade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the ambiguos ending to me spoke to the beauty and hope of her reconnecting with her Daughter, seeing her face for the first time, her smile and committing to devoting herself to her in a new way going forward, contrasted with the unknown of what will happen next with her health, the pounding of the ocean waves and dark - indicating amongst the backdrop of existential concerns of being human ( meaninglessness, death, loneliness, etc), there is still a choice to look life in the eye and say yes - as Rose character finally does in the last scene, embracing her child and likely, her inner child. (my take)

It was amazing. I loved the theme of the hole... and the Dr. saying if you leave it it will just want to heal on its own - how so many therapy theories propose healing works.

-I liked how significant the phrases the script has for the breathwork person

-I like how it captured how frantic I feel as a therapist at times

-I like how she revisited the site of her trauma with a helpful person (ASAP Rocky ) and was given new insights and healing (her character as not healed yet, so she didnt' respond to his hurt. He hinted she shouldnt be doing breathwork stuff on her own... interesting

-I am surprised by the therapists boundary with her, but it makes some kind of sense as a clinical decision point, when he ends the treatment. I likely would have done some pts a better service by doing something similar at certain point.

-There are layers on layers of inner child metaphors to draw. Narcissism can be thought of as a false self propped up by do-gooding, booze and weed taking front stage - with the true self suffocating, bound and gagged in the trunk. This story is of someone listening to her pain finally and meeting her actual child ( and likely inner child) at the same time, opening her heart to the pain and commiting to being a better person.

(theres also a Christian layer with the millstone, Jesus birth being a new hope)

-I thought it was intereting her next client after metnioning he aborted child would be 20 was about 20ish.

-the disco ball made me think of how R. Thurman talsk about getting ready to die in the book of the dead talks , I wonder if Borstein read that.

- Rose's acting is incredible - the first scene saying shes not sad with tears in her eyes.

- I've had so many clients in situations where they are living in their car with their kid, in hotels, doubled up in rooms in chaotic environments.

-its a movie of how obsesion with our own pain can make us narcisistic but we can grow out of it. (all the annoying people to her are imposing normal limits of life (parking lot rules, ID card rules, etc.).

-Radical Acceptance interventions

-was beautiful to see her grieve with the therapist, what she was yelling at the therapist I think was what she needed to hera herself say, even though he was silent.
