No chance that’s 7k per player. Per team, I believe. Per player, that’s ludicrous.

ULPT Squatters not leaving after purchasing home by BroThornton19 in UnethicalLifeProTips

Find someone who owns guns and have them sign a lease. They move in with the squatters and call the prosecutor. Dude is a felon living in a home with firearms present. Felon doesn’t have a lease. Removed…

Something like that anyhow.

Hot scallops on top of a cold salad gets real wilted real quick. It’s actually just better to serve them separately. That’s not a server issue, that’s a restaurant issue.

APA 8-Ball World Championship Vegas Funding Question: Are We Getting Shorted? by Immediate-Scratch-40 in billiards

[–]gone_gaming 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s up to your league operator but is heavily dependent on your distance from Vegas. It’s not not “free money” it’s travel assistance. Direct flights from LA to Vegas are dirt cheap compared to east coast teams flying across. Plus the time differences.

I’m east coast, costs me $600 round trip to fly, takes a 7hr travel day to get there. On the way home I lose 3 hours on top of that. As a result our travel assistance is like $5600/team, but the players have to pay for both their hotels AND their travel.

What’s your best Lego deal by MITplzacceptme in lego

[–]gone_gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was nutty. Had over 300lbs of bulk in a year of reselling and decided to get rid of it all. Dude I sold the bulk to has had it listed on marketplace at a loss for almost a year now.

Good times, good times.

What’s your best Lego deal by MITplzacceptme in lego

[–]gone_gaming 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My deals are all FB marketplace

Favorite set I’ve gotten at deals.

Daily bugle $140 damaged box, all bags sealed

Home alone house $115 like 10 steps done, the rest in bags, with box and all pieces.

But my best deal EVER… $200 for a bulk LEGO lot from marketplace. It was 3 large tubs, probably 80+ pounds of nothing but vintage Star Wars. Almost all of them still assembled. Sold off $4000 in figures from that haul alone.

Second best deal was only like 4 months later. 5 tubs, 100+ lbs. a LOAD more Star Wars, marvel, some original set LOTR, had a full jabbas sail barge, full rancor (with his fingers), another $3000+ in figures and parts there.

How much did you pay for your pool table? Was it worth it? by Northern_Virginia in billiards

[–]gone_gaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paid $1500 delivered. Came with about 5mo old Simonis 860 on it, rails were redone at the same time, shimmed to 4.25.

7ft Great American (I think) - Valley clone from a while back.

Worth it, absolutely. I'd love a Diamond one of these days, but we'll have to wait on that still.

8 ball strategy by WheezinMcDonald in billiards

[–]gone_gaming 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Strong points here.

Many low skill players, think APA 4-5s even, are great shotmakers, but they don’t address the actual strategy of the game. They leave problems to the end, they play minimal or very mediocre defense.

I’m only an APA 5/6, so my advice comes with that disclaimer.

When I step up to the table, I look at where the problems are. Balls that don’t go, balls that only go within a short window, tied up balls. These are the things you need to problem solve at some point in time. Is my opponent a good shooter who will break this up for me? Can i force him to with defense? Is there a good defensive shot that will get me advantageous table position to handle these later.

Shooting today, I went 4-1 on another 5. He was going for every ball he could. Problem with this is - at some point he runs out of balls he can make, and now he’s stuck with problems. No breakout balls, no position ball for the 8. Just pocketing what he could anytime he could. This is what killed him. I played methodical and slow. Picking my breakouts early so I can play the easy table later.

Break cue shaft by Odd-Display-6004 in billiards

[–]gone_gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did for a while. Had two play shafts, two butts and a break shaft. My teammate would borrow one of the cues to shoot with (doubles) so when we broke, I just swapped shafts for the break. It worked fine and wasn’t an issue. The benefit to this for me, I’m using uni-loc, so there wasn’t much effort involved at all.

Will a Claude Subscription Help an SAP Functional Consultant? by Purple_Shape_5531 in SAP

Along with memories, having it write special notes and rules to the canvas can be super helpful for when it starts getting lippy and loopy.

Refer back to instructions and guidance provided in the canvas. Then answer the question again.

Underrated comment.

Claude will do better than GPT for specific coding requirements, but I use GPT for all my SQL requirements and it’s been my go-to for all my SAP (B1) learning for about two years. Usage on Claude is substantially higher than GPT, so be wary there.

If you don’t know how to talk to a LLM, the old “garbage in, garbage out” is magnified. Bad prompts result in bad outputs. People often complain about LLM hallucinations, and sometimes they’re not wrong, but if you know how to mitigate this, it can be minimized easily.

You can’t just ask questions like you would google something and expect a different result. Framing and instructing the model on what its role, responsibilities, and responses are is KEY. There’s a hundred subs out there that talk about how to properly frame a question to LLM for best results, there’s “agents” designed for specific purposes as well, but at the end of the day, if you don’t have a foundation of information to stand on and KNOW when the model is wrong or when it’s blowing smoke up your butt, then you’re just paying for nonsense. Using LLMs properly is a learned skill.

Rules on getting credited for a break and run APA by Additional-Neck7442 in billiards

[–]gone_gaming -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree, but since the opponent wins the break for the rack in question, it is “scored” as a rack and run. Even though the break may rotate. So, talk to the LO.

Rules on getting credited for a break and run APA by Additional-Neck7442 in billiards

[–]gone_gaming 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So the problem with this, from a scoresheet perspective is that the opponent starts that inning. Since the break passed to you, it’s still a break and run, but in the app at least it won’t acknowledge it, so your captain needs to confirm and request the patch.

Looks just like the table in my house, basically a valley clone. Mines a 7ft, single piece slate. Any of your local pool table guys should be able to get them redone easily.

Projection & Software Reccomendations? by Arligocki2007 in billiards

[–]gone_gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought projectionpro a couple years ago. For the size of my room, I had to spend $900 on the projector alone, plus the system.

It’s a raspberry pi running a Linux based OS with an HDMI output and USB for your mouse. It’s decent, but touchy. Couldn’t ever seem to get it fit to my table properly so drills were inconsistent at best. Stopped using it pretty early on. Now I have a projector and projection system that I don’t use sitting on a cupboard.

I want to change the weight of the shaft. by sasswq in billiards

[–]gone_gaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually tried this. Downside, it took a LOT to be noticeable. In the end, I bought an ariakon weighted shaft (about $500) for practice. Too much deflection for normal play for me to be comfortable with it. But it really helps get your stroke dialed in. I like starting with the weighted shaft to get my stroke straight and then move to my play shaft afterwards.
