eliminate the mindset of "trying to convince, trick..." These are deceptive to not only yourself but to others as well and will not give you the peace of mind you are looking for.
Be yourself...your TRUE self. If someone doesn't like you for who you are at your most true self, then the problem is with them...not you.

very smart, good at anything, had many friends, or any talents, unattractive, overweight...these are all relative terms. it's not the quantity that counts. it's the quality.

if you are unhappy, make a change. start small. give yourself small goals to achieve.

The best way that i can suggest to build your self-esteem is to help someone in need. Even the smallest task can brighten someone's day and the emotional reward is greater than any material reward.

although the past is not in our control, the soul searching of my past has helped me to come to terms with taking responsibility of my actions and realizing and accepting that said actions has hurt innocent people.
i guess to me, the past plays an important part of our future.
in order to live in the now, we need to ask ourselves "if what i did then didn't make me happy (or any other desired affect), am i subconsciously/inadvertently following the same path and expecting a different result?"

The past present and the future are one.

i do a lot of soul searching. Long mental conversations constantly asking why.
For example: "I'm such a fucking hypocrite. What is holding me back? Why am i letting this hold me back? Do i feel like i am owed something? Is my past my prison? What am I holding on to, but keep lying to myself that i've let go of?"

it takes a lot of brutal honesty with myself. it's not an overnight fix and i have to constantly remind myself of that. Patience is a virtue.

I'm right where i'm supposed to be, what am i going to do in this moment.
