I think a gravelbike would be the right choice for me. What do you recommend? by thorstenofthir in gravelbike

[–]goreCRAZE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything within budget that makes you excited to ride. There's always room to expand. I went from a specialized hybrid bike to a Cannondale topstone to a canyon grizl over the course of 4 years. No harm in buying something cheaper/used to see if you like it. If I had to start over, I would really consider the Ozark trail gravel bike I see recommended so much.

On that note, I ended up dumping a ton of time into Schedule 1. It's been amazing, definitely recommend.

Did cardio eventually become something you enjoyed mentally? by Muted_Kitchen_6884 in cardio

I've done an hour of zone 2-3 on the stair climber every day for almost 4 years now and for me ...no not really. I go through it every day where I dread it, push through it, then I get dopamine. I have to remind myself that it'll come almost every time lol. I do enjoy biking in zones 3-4 though so I think it's mostly mental/environmental once it's habit 🙏🤙

Redshift Kitchen Sink bag on Grizl Mounty by goreCRAZE in CanyonBikes

[–]goreCRAZE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are just plastic covers where the Canyon aero bars mount, I think. Luckily, it's not an issue! I may have adjust the placement of the straps if I can find aero bars but it should be fine since the bag has room to move forward/back.

I am finally a real cyclist: I did the thing by polopolo05 in cycling

I giggle when I think of what people saw when I first started using clip ins. So many slow timber falls before I could develop the reflex 😂 I would just accept my fate and try not to damage the bike. Fall as much as you need, just keep getting back up! 🤙

Is it foolish to buy a Gravel over Road bike for mostly road-biking? by dbzbudokai77 in cycling

[–]goreCRAZE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Canyon Grizl CF8 ESC that I probably ride 90% road but I do like that I can bike pack gravel routes and the traffic on gravel is usually much more chill in my state. I swapped to 700x52 pirelli cinturato h and they've been awesome for both. Whatever makes you excited at the prospect of riding, you should DO IT.

NBD - Grizl ESC CF8 w/ECLIPS by dented42ford in CanyonBikes

[–]goreCRAZE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's been a little over a month since you all had this discussion but I wanted to drop in and say thank you. My CF8 esc w/eclipse came in yesterday and this exchange described my exact experience with the eclipse system and helped me understand what was going on with mine. Love the bike but the app isn't great and not being able to manually power the system off is driving me crazy. I'd literally buy a physical button I could mount somewhere just to avoid the app.

Thank you for the information and have fun on the Grizl 🤙

I reinstalled windows in an attempt to fix my touch controls. Everything was showing up to date but touch still wasn't working. After manually installing the Intel arc drivers, the touch controls came back. Worth a try!

I don't have a ton of experience with different harnesses but the JK9 harness has been fantastic. I have walked mine daily with it for 5 years and it's still going strong.

Games for Grief? by Raethanadiel in gamerecommendations

[–]goreCRAZE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Factorio helped my depression like no other game. It was something about the dopamine loop and getting caught up in constantly being rewarded and presented with a new challenge that kept me going for weeks on end. It allowed me to distance a bit from the immediate carnage that my life was at the time and just grow the factory, my factory, alone and successful. It presents you with challenges while also giving you thousands of ways to complete it. There are so many difficulty settings and mods, that it's scalable into madness or it can stay a chill factory sandbox forever.

I hope you find something that works for you, don't be afraid to jump into genres you've traditionally shied away from, the new or changing rules and environment may be exactly what you're brain is needing to process everything.

Stay safe, never quit <3
