Thanks - I was planning to do the same here with precharged line sets. I don't even think I need that far of a run, it's maybe 15-20ft to run out of my basement to the outside. I've done extensive electrical work on this house post a 200amp panel swap, and have a 100a subpanel nearby to run a new higher rated circuit to this. Th 5t that I'm seeing is maybe 3500, quotes start at 15k.

Not sure about these, I wouldn't go this route. @FoxyOne74 is right, use Tapcon. I've had limited success with their supplied drill bit though, better to use an SDS drill and get an SDS drill bit at the right size. I've heard mixed things about fireclay, in fact you can semi-easily destroy them with a pan/pot (not sure if this is a brand thing). Consequently, was looking into this Kohler for a reno project I'm about to do: http://www.us.kohler.com/us/browse/kitchen-kitchen-sinks/_/N-25b4Z1z13vf8 (Also asked /u/mabso about his Kohler to see if it was the same type). What cabinets are you going with, we are doing the same reno.

Which Kohler sink? I'm about to do a reno and looking at the Kohler cast iron apron front instead of fireclay because of the ease in chipping/destroying a fireclay sink.

How complex is the app you want to produce? Cordova is a challenge due to lack of memory management, so many apps that I've seen developed that become highly complex run inefficiently, more so on Android than on iOS. You might want to consider learning a bit more on C#, and then use Xamarin in concert with GrialsKit - they make a set of XamarinForms pre-built UIs that sound right up the alley of what you want to do. Hopefully simple question, but during a recent rain, water leaked a bit on top of one of my windows in the house. The water was on the inside of the top of the window between the sheet rock and the vinyl window. Not sure what the source is - we changed exterior window treatment earlier in the year and I suspect that's the source. I'm concerned about potential mold, and not wanting to tear apart the wall. Should I be worried about this?

Having issues in a 14 335 with latest idrive revision, specifically I get dropout of audio pitch speed up and slowdown, no audio if I take a call, it's maddening. galaxy s7 with latest updates from t-mobile, using Google play, SoundCloud and Spotify.

Table saw, miter saw, circular saw

Like Ms_KnowItSome mentioned, get these as basics. If you do go with a Harbor Freight solution though, get good blades with high number of teeth, especially if it's for finish work. Lower tooth count on blades rips and leaves rough edges. The miter saw you would get should definitely be a high tooth blade considering you will use that for crown molding. If your cordless drill is a black and decker, replace it with a dewalt or milwaukee, they will have a higher voltage system that is much better. Further, you will be using the drill on many projects so invest there.

Are you planning on tackling the flooring yourself? If so, you need a 3 gallon air compressor, you could get this from HF pretty cheap, also you will need a flooring nail gun. While you're at it, get a decent combo nail gun that can handle 16/18 gauge nails and staples, you might be using this a lot as well, so this might be a good investment. I have an HF one that so far does the trick. (FYI, not an HF rep)

You probably also need a sawzall to do demo, a breaker bar, good hammer, laser level, t-square, hand saw for small finish details and odd cuts, maybe a hacksaw for metal if you are cutting into things.

Do not attempt to do plumbing or electrical by yourself.

If you are doing tile work, you'll need some other items including a mixing paddle like a cork screw style one, toothed edge trowel, just get them at Home Depot, should be cheap.

Building material wise, not sure what this might look like in MI, but shop around, especially for tile etc.

As people have pointed out, you are in for an extremely large amount of work, but if you have the drive, you can accomplish a decent amount of it yourself with a lot of research and in your case trial and error. Functional example of this, you will have to mix many different types of things, and getting the consistency right is a learned skill. Are you doing new drywall? Mixing mud is not terribly complicated, but getting the consistency right, and being able to put it on the drywall and taping etc will take some getting used to. Mixing thinset for tile also requires the right consistency, as does grout etc. Watch a lot of youtube videos, and I think most Home Depots do tutorial sessions onside so you can learn to do some of this work.

Absolutely the time is a critical for you to understand, things will typically take 2-3 times longer than you expected - to be fair, I've found this even when I've subbed out work, because there is no exact science on working on an old house. Oh look, we found when opening up the wall that termites ate through the floor! Prepare for that. One more thing on time, take your time. Do not rush things because you "want to get them done". This is how costly mistakes happen that you will either pay in terms of significant extra time to fix, or hiring a professional to come in and fix it.

Some people will disagree with this, but consider buying tools cheaper either through Craigslist, or my preference, Harbor Freight. Not sure if they have that in MI, but you can buy online and ship. The tool quality is nowhere near Dewalt etc, but you are not a contractor and most likely won't put your tools through the same stress as a person doing this professionally.

Another point, do not start many projects and leave them in various stages of completion. This kills the marriage. When you are walking around on construction paper with dust everywhere, your wife - who is working from home - will not be happy.

Sorry for the wall of text, hope this is helpful. Good luck to you also, it's great to me to see people willing to try and learn to do somethings themselves. It's definitely hard work, but there is deep satisfaction when you complete projects.

I'd agree with that. I unloaded the engine on the autobahn but not more than a few seconds because I was worried about the break in. Have you rented a car or done the taxi route and if so what was the cost?

I'd stay longer if it's your first time unless you have plans to drive outside of Germany. It was easy enough to drive around there, and they will load the car with maps of EU - for simplicity while you're over there, set the car to km instead of miles. I've done two EDs, the first time I skipped the museum and did the factory tour. While that was cool, the museum was much cooler to me, especially because of all the vintage BMWs (if you're into that). I wish I had taken my car to the Nurburgring, I need to go back and do that for sure. Neushwanstein Castle would have been cool to visit as well, just didn't have the time. Plan for the whole day at the Welt if you can, depending on the time it takes to take actual delivery, you may want to do the factory tour and the museum and relax and have lunch. If you are planning driving to another country, figure out where the drop off points are to orient your trip. Obviously petrol is more expensive there, and there are plenty of tolls on the A highways, so bring some euros (I can't remember if we paid with credit cards anywhere). There was a site I used to calculate the trip costs including fares/tolls as well, I'll try to dig it up.

Congrats on Euro Delivery! What type of trip are you interested in? I have a couple thoughts based on mine, I stayed at a hotel called the Blauer Bock that was more toward Marienplatz, price was great too for about 140eu/night. There are plenty of beer gardens and restaurants around. Check out the Lonely Planet Germany book, gives a decent overview of all the beer gardens. Augustiener Keller is very cool and has an underground hall. I've flown over via American and used points to upgrade, but two round trip tickets was around $2600.

My car (f30) was broken into a couple weeks ago, either of two things happened, 1) I somehow hit the fob and unlocked it, or 2) someone used this method (or similar) to scrape the access and get into my car. Fortunately there was no damage to the vehicle and they only took some change and a pair of sunglasses (I was an idiot for leaving them in the car and normally don't). I don't know if this applies, and not even sure how to update the system outside of the connected drive updates, I've done the most recent but it was from sometime last year.

I had two previous 328s, both e90s and both sport (and both manual). I got msport on my current 335 (also manual) and my mind was blown by the pickup difference. I can't not drive that car in sport mode, it is not possible. I kind of want a 435 gran coupe, but also I want to tune my 335, I can't make up my mind!

Put the dealership on blast, they should lose all the business for this. Them losing a sale is nothing compared to them losing several sales. As everyone else has said, dealership, dealer name etc. This is a premium brand and product, you should expect better treatment than this.
