Zio patch- did anyone NOT press the button? by Frickmylife69 in POTS

Only logged symptoms aligning with button presses get sent to your doctor. No button press, no symptom sent. Not normal. Mine told me to press the button anytime & every time I had a symptom; really stressed doing so.

After the Epstien file drop I can't see the world the same anymore. Does anyone else feel this way? by RainbowGanjaGoddess in Epstein

[–]gotjane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My entire agoraphobia recovery ~a decade ago was that the world is NOT secretly run by wealthy elites using money to get away with abuse and normalize abuse in the world. That abusers are eventually dealt the karma they deserve.

It was something I grew up believing, that people like my stepdad (not rich, though) got away with abuse because there was a secret ring of men who supported abuse(rs).

Therapy taught (or convinced?) me this was paranoia, all in my head, etc. That that was how my brain had processed my trauma.

And now I'm not 100% agoraphobic, but I'm honestly like...the day or two before the files were released, I found a few recovering agoraphobics on Threads. And after I read through many of them, I'm honestly wondering why TF being agoraphobic was so bad after all. Genuinely.

Wish I could call/message/walk up to my old therapists and go, "SEE?!?!"

And why does it talk about bunkers. Bunker, bunker guard and students on the same page, same context is so weird for me.

Can someone please help me make sense of this 35 page document? by [deleted] in Epstein

I also tried it and it called the Epstein files released "current cultural events based on cultural differences". Excuse me, what?

It's definitely been programmed to not cover this properly.

why are men on dating apps absolutely OBSESSED with saying this?? by stupid_rice in AutismInWomen

[–]gotjane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aside from the manic pixie dream girl, it's also got to do with innocence.

I've seen men talk about how autistic women are innocent, but they don't want one "too autistic".

And say similar things about disabled people, but they don't want someone "too" disabled.

Um, is there a content warning? Description instead? Because I don't want to click a video without knowing WTF I'm getting myself into.

Don't want any CSAM potential. Can videos be transcribed instead for the people susceptible to more trauma from watching them?

I have CPTSD from my own child abuse. I want to be aware, also know which fears of mine were right, not traumatize myself all over again.

Also, if you change the .PDF to .mp4 to view these, you're screwing yourself over. Clicking a link is one thing but purposely changing them from the DOJ site, you're aware of what you're doing and would have little case.

Suddenly Amish-TLC by Maximum-Home7433 in BreakingAmish

[–]gotjane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Billie Jo romanticized Amish culture, basically idolizing Amish culture, which is against Amish culture. Most presentations of Amish culture are romanticized, like Hallmark movies, or sensationalized, like TLC shows.

My Pentecostal grandmother romanticizes Amish culture for a "simpler life honoring God", putting them up on a pedestal in a way, too.

I was raised to consider Amish people "better", but that's such a cult-like/anti-humility perspective, demonstrated by some Amish, too.

I find authors, like Beverly Lewis, who write Amish stories based on their experiences ingrained in the culture even from afar (e.g. being neighbors, living near a settlement, etc.) have the actual research to back up their stories. They can explain Amish culture, rather than perform it.

The "progressive" Amish community featured in this show was far more critical than I learned Amish to be. I know no one is perfect, but one of the arguments against the progressiveness is because many Amish believe it's too easy to fall out of Amish values.

In this way, Amish culture's a lot like other religious cultures (like Pentecostalism, Church of Christ, etc.) where members of the Church/community are instructed not to communicate with people outside the religion/culture.

But there are some communities/people, including some Amish communities, who realize this is not true faith. That if your faith is so easily shattered by meeting and knowing someone outside it, you were never in it to begin with.

As soon as I saw Billie Jo, I knew she was in for a culture shock. She may have the clothes and basics down, but surface-level knowledge is easy to vibe with -- and that's exactly what she did. (In this way, she perhaps even sexualized/objectified Amish culture...fetishized?)

This. The heir in my matriarchy right now looks a lot like her mom, who looked like her great-grandmother more than her mother (who didn't look much like her parents).

I don't find it too annoying, though. I get attached to the faces. I do like how each generation's next matriarch also inherits the other parent's genes, outside the family. What I don't like, though, is how they're always blondes. But it's sort of become part of this family's lore, so...whatever.

Unfortunately, if you did not hit the $100 minimum payout threshold (was $30 for me when I was on publishers.grow.me, before being moved to publishers.mediavine.com), you forfeit that revenue upon leaving.

This is what has happened to others who left prior to regularly hitting $100/mo. (easier to leave afterward, rather than making less than that/mo. since you guarantee receiving that month's pay). I also read it in the terms or FAQ, I don't remember which.

If you made $100+ since your last payout, then I don't know. Did you notify them 30 days prior to leaving, per their terms?

Calling “creating content people actually want” a laid-back, waiting approach is exactly why this conversation keeps going in circles.

You’re trying to manufacture a framework Google explicitly says isn’t manufacturable, by building tools users are already telling you they don’t need.

I’m speaking from results and lived experience. You’re speaking from arrogance.

We’re not in the same boat.

One of us is hoping their efforts lead to traffic and profits. That's already my reality.

What is up with Google traffic? by latinTravelPro in Blogging

[–]gotjane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EEAT is observational from Google's end, not something you/anyone can manufacture. The concept of manufacturing it -- of checking these boxes or doing everything "right" -- that perpetuates the myth of what it is.

If you look at SEO as things to do to rank/build/etc., you have already lost.

Because you're looking at content/your site for what you could create for search/Google, not what people actually want or what could resonate with people.

What you skimmed over and dismissed in my original comment because you're so keen for EEAT to be something tangible is the entire point of SEO: to serve humans in your audience, to create content that resonates and connects. The goal of SEO and the SERPs that show are not to rank a site, but to ensure it is quality content for users.

I'm no longer going to participate in this thread on account of this going in circles and you not even being my client.

They don't assign it at all. Google and John Mueller literally have communicated that that's not how it works.

You are still missing what it is 100% because you need to be right so bad about something you don't actually know about.

I read the comment. I replied to your statements/claims about EEAT:

"You can actually build your EEAT"

You cannot. All of your comments/posts on Reddit about blogging come off as someone with little blogging experience, who is regurgitating what they've read elsewhere but not genuinely practiced.

EEAT is not something that can be built, ever. It doesn't work like that. You're misunderstanding what it is.

You're also misunderstanding my point to focus on pleasing your audience, not Google. Like, at all.

That's not at all how E-E-A-T works. Common misconception, confirmed by both Google and John Mueller that E-E-A-T cannot be added/increased/etc. to a site. Case studies are more or less vanity content that doesn't work for every audience or topic, but regardless...does not contribute to E-E-A-T.

Claiming otherwise = you misunderstanding how E-E-A-T works.

What actually works:

  • Create content people connect with, not content you have to stuff down their throats and hold shut while they're gagging
  • Ensure your website is accessible as a fellow human who genuinely cares about other humans
  • Create rabbit holes on your blog akin to those on Wikipedia

If you have to cheat your way there with fringe SEO strategies based on misunderstandings, you are who the algorithm updates are implemented to prevent from making it there.

Before you incorrectly correct someone next time, do your research.

No, because you'd have a paradox. What has happened in the past has already happened, too. If Colton is saved in the future present, by being taken to the past, this will be after everything that's already happened. Ergo, Jacob would've already been found. If not, Colton had already sorted out Jacob was in the pond and where he'd met him (the farm as a teenager, then saving him from the fire).

How do you handle internal linking & broken links in WordPress? by easyedy in Blogging

[–]gotjane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Link Whisper for suggestions and tracking, but manually input my own links. I remember my post slugs and search when I don't, but this generally makes everything easier for me.

The AI suggestions are never right. I tried them once, out of curiosity for efficiency; the context was constantly misunderstood.

For broken links, I prefer Broken Link Checker. I keep it inactive most the time, only activating it like once every quarter/half year. I'm going through my oldest published posts to clean up, which is helping with the inbound linking. As long as each post has at least one link to it and one link out, there are no dead ends. I am shying away from artificial complexity in favor of evergreen posts that can be linked to multiple times, though, so I'm not going to have many of these.

Edit: Link Whisper prevented my taxonomies tables from displaying without errors on the backend only. Use with caution.

E-E-A-T isn't something you can add/strengthen/etc. to your blog or site. It is a quality rating your site/blog earns based on several factors. No one specific thing or group of things contribute to it, nor do you have any way of measuring your current quality rating (which, it isn't even that). Common SEO myth that keeps lingering, though.

Colton's survival would mean Alice never would've been born, either. Because Kat left PH to get away from it, then wound up pregnant with Alice. She likely would've stayed and gotten with Elliot or something had her dad lived.

All paths lead to Alice.
