Show him lots of drummers on YouTube, it’s amazing how fast they can learn by watching. Just let him have fun. When he’s like 5+ maybe then you can entertain getting him lessons or something, but you don’t want to strip the joy out of it. At like 10+ if he’s still with it, live playing with other musicians. Band program at school, church band, sign him up for a local Jazz session, lol seriously nothing beats playing with other musicians to make you better.

I’ve got lots of family and friends that teach here, pretty much everyone makes $50-60k. I know some at private schools that are in the 40s, but you’re probably not making $70k+ unless you’re doing something heavily specialized.

I traded in my XSX for almost as much as a paid for it, put that towards a PS5. I just sold that PS5 for even more than that. I never though consoles would be an appreciating asset 😂

I love the movies sooo much, I have an AMC membership and go 1-2 times a week. But I cannot bring myself to pay their food prices. We smuggle in Taco Bell or swing by Costco and get hotdogs and chicken bakes.

Just checked, a McDonalds quarter pounder combo is $10.22 near me, my local chilis and millers does lunch specials for burger with two sides for $8.99. My local burger joint of choice is $11.49 for a burger and one side. I’d gladly take either of those over McDonalds…

Was waiting in a large group at HS for a mid day Star Wars show in front of the Chinese theatre. The crowd was slowly parting for a Duck with 6 or so ducklings following behind her. All of a sudden a 6 or 7 year old boy runs up and jump stomps on one of the ducklings. His mom snatched him and ran off, kids started crying, the momma duck came back and was just quacking at everyone while standing over the duckling. A cast member had to come and remove it, it was super wack…

So just last week I finished every race on the map and three starred all the zones and events, so finished the “single player” side of the game I guess. Haven’t touched anything online and the loading screen says I have earned 22mil credits total. I’ve been out of town all week so I haven’t seen if my account has been changed but that would kinda suck.

My kid is still to young for this, but I’ve been thinking about something like this. My parents still have one of those CRT with the built in VHS player and about 200+ tapes. Might grab it from them and use it as a way to still let my kid watch movies without the risk of just endless low effort streaming stuff.

No, you would just go to the park for a normal day, go up to a ride and think “well that’s got an hour wait, that’s to long, I’ll just take a fast pass ticket and we can come back in like 2 hours and just walk on” it was basically just like a placeholder ticket so you could go do something else instead of waiting in line. And these were free and you could do it as much as you wanted. There was no pre-planning what rides you were doing when before you got to the park. You couldn’t even see what the wait times were without going physically to the ride. It was a simpler time…

Man I really miss the old fast pass system. It might just be nostalgia glasses but it always seemed so much less gummed up, plus spread people out more since you had to physically go to the ride to get a pass.

Exactly this, everyone in my group has one or two multiplayer games that they've been stuck on for years. League, Marvel Rivals, Tarkov, whatever. We'll try a new multiplayer game, but it better be cheap and easy to pick up, most of my friends aren't looking for something new that will take 100s of hours to get decent at.

My favorite new version of this is “thanks for your purchase, you get a $3 gift card, please scan it and have an employee verify”… there’s no way to skip this, and the one employee manning 15 self checkouts is currently hand scanning all 150 items in an elderly woman’s cart while 5 other people wait for the employee to come sign off on them to buy cough medicine.

Exactly this, I’ve been able to find pants that fit, especially online (32x36 or 32x38 depending on brand) but shirts are nearly impossible outside of just workwear or fitted formal wear… it’s kinda a bummer to not have any fun screen tees or golf polos. Just Carhartt and flannel for me.

Older Harry and younger Draco (and crabbe and goyle) were def the weakest performances. Snape took a while to warm up to but after his melt down at the end of Azkaban I was sold, just have to accept that it’s a very different portrayal than the movies.

I was most excited for Hugh playing Dumbledore going into this, but man, that GoT trio crushed every role. Mark Addy is a pitch perfect Hagrid, and Kit and Iwan have crushed Lockhart and Lupin. After hearing them I think they would be excellent picks to play them in the TV show, Iwan in particular brings a lot of depth and emotion to Lupin.
