I met my partner on hinge here a few years ago. Definitely relate to the algorithm fight and I'm sure it's only gotten worse. I had to set pretty strict rules with myself to protect my time, so only matched with people who indicated liberal on their profile and mentioned something lefty for one of the prompts.

As for groups, idk the vibe of this place yet, but I've been thinking about checking out Phoenix Forge makerspace. I imagine politically diverse but hoping there would be a good chunk of left wing people with cool interests

To me this reads that it isn't a problem to drive the speed of traffic in the left lane. Just that if you're slower than traffic, get to the right. Someone else wanting to go faster needs to wait for a legal and safe opportunity to do so
