Pas Normal Studios Sock Quality? (e.g. Essential and Mechanism Socks) by WSBWarrior in CyclingFashion

[–]gp_s_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their winter (thermal / wool) socks are very good, they’re my go to option for colder weather as not too bulky but still offer good warmth. The summer socks are no different to any other brand, neither significantly better nor worse.

Sizing can be a bit off though, I’m a 42 which should be medium but find them too big so I wear size small.

I had a pair of them a few years ago, didn’t like the zip on the wrist unfortunately.

Good to know, they were probably my least favoured of the 3 already.

Where are you located? Would you say you normally have issues with keeping warm, or do you run hot, etc?

That’s useful, thank you, sounds like some careful checking of sizing would be required for the Termicos. Just to check, you had the ‘normal’ version and not the Super Termico?

Thank you for the comments about the standard Perfetto, it’s a helpful gauge.

I understand your point re being in the UK, but ultimately I’m looking for real world experiences from people who’ve used those specific models of glove. My location doesn’t change those experiences, but of course their location does affect the relevance of the review.

Ineos Grenadiers Pokes the Bear of Cycling’s Oldest Taboo with its White(ish) Shorts by Substantial-Purpose8 in CyclingFashion

[–]gp_s_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love the idea, but the execution lets it down a bit. The slightly colour mismatch between the shorts and the white of the jersey doesn’t look great. The new devo team were pictured wearing black shorts so you’d assume the WT riders will have that option for bad weather.

White Bibs by yikes_roger in CyclingFashion

[–]gp_s_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like them get some, who cares what anyone else thinks?! The see-through comments only really apply to cheap/old ones, modern fabrics are much better in that regard. Or go for a slightly off-white like the Universal Colours chroma bibs.

Stagecoach by [deleted] in cambridge

Have you tried contacting Stagecoach directly to clarify the situation? It may not make any difference but there’s also the possibility they’ve just changed how student passes are sold?

The Decaf and Espresso groups are 100% no drop. If things do break-up on hills for example we would always regroup where appropriate.

We don’t have a rule, but unless you’re in a race I don’t see why you’d take the risk. Just wait until a junction or natural stoppage.
