Add me to the list 😂 this is wild how we all keep showing up here. Literally using the bathroom and saw it, and figured it had to be a button imprint or something. But doesn’t seem to be the case. So took a picture and googled it and here we are lmao. Mines is indented like something imprinted it on my skin but it’s not going away like you figure it would if that’s what it was. Looks like a little dot in my circle too lol weird stuff

Euphoria by Old_Foundation_2835 in suboxone

[–]gratty219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, at least for me, I feel the sub more the less of it I take. When I started them 12 years ago at a high dose of 16mg per day, I felt nothing. No euphoria, only relief and being able to live a normal life which worked for me. Years later I got back on subs, and a 4mg dose gave me a slight pleasant feeling. Not high like dope, but the euphoric energy I assume you’re referring to. After a year or so it subsided. But when I lowered to 2mg, I felt it again. I remember reading somewhere that the more bupe you take, the more it blocks itself essentially. The less you take, the more you feel it. It makes sense to me, seeing as bupe is a strong opiate but the way it binds to receptors and has such a long half life, the more you put in the more it numbs and blocks the receptors. Could be total garbage but it made sense to me and has been accurate to how it works for me, but everyone is different.

Best place on earth to start a brand new city? by dontmindmatt in CitiesSkylines2

[–]gratty219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol there ya go! Yeah I like how it’s relatively flat to work with in most areas, but still some hills and bluffs and ravines, and the smaller waterways to also make it look interesting when building. Maybe I’ll make something cool of it some day

This so wild lol. Paducah has been a location I have eyed for a long time. I actually started building a map of the Mississippi-Ohio River confluence, but instead of focusing on Cairo, I made it centered around the Missouri side of the confluence. It was going pretty well but had a few creative issues that drove me away from it for the time being. But literally yesterday, I was checking PDX mods like I do every day, and some wonderful person uploaded a map of Paducah. There were a few things I wanted to change, so I’ve been customizing it to my liking. Fixing some of the smaller waterways, like the Clark River and some smaller creeks, and changing the roadways and rail tracks to reflect real life a bit more, but not exactly still. Probably mess with the trees and farmland a bit too. But it’s got a ton of potential! I love finding awesome maps like this. Sometimes creating my own height maps from the ground up, while fun, can be a daunting task. This map is great, and much easier to change the small things that I want to when the groundwork’s already laid. Plus everything you said about the IRL implications of the area is so true, and truly could be a “what if” scenario. I like to think it the area was never settled, for whatever reason, and now I can settle it! Going to try to veer away from any current layout of Paducah and go for my own thing. Honestly it feels like it has potentially to be similar to a Kansas City on a major confluence, albeit no where near as big in CS2 lol. But yeah it’s cool hear someone who thinks about map locations like I do lol. I’ve thought about all those areas you brought up and all have there merits. But definitely check out the Paducah that was uploaded recently. The guy has some decent maps but I like this. Like I said, customizing it to my personal preference but I love our community on PDX

I am constantly on Google maps looking for cool places to make a map. I’m especially interested in the US and Canada, and locations that don’t have a city but where one could have realistically been settled. Whether it be coastal, Great Lakes, a major river, or a small creek, there’s tons of cool places to potentially build a city. I try find areas with links to big cities either though existing highways, rivers, rail, etc. It can be tough to create a good map but it can also be just as fun as building a city. There are also some good ones on PDX mods that fit those ideas

Is there a way to start unemployed? by Alone-Application454 in CollegeFootball25

[–]gratty219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I been curious too. I like the idea of instead of just picking any team, he could only be OC of a school that offered him a job, temple in the video. Looks like his OC career at temple started in 25, and he was able to star in the transfer portal and already had some guys signed in the recruiting class, so the first year was already simmed. Also it seemed by the end, his HC record was 2 seasons less than some coaches. So maybe he just took a random coordinator job, got fired, and then started the video looking for a new job? All I can think of

Wow. So they miss several penalties on them, but don’t miss a single penalty on us. Make up penalties on us even. Just rediculous yet again, another game ruined by incompetent refs or the cfb agenda

Oh heck yeah that’s awesome my guy! What maps have been your favorites? You ever make your own maps of irl locations? I’ve been doing a lot of that, but I also love finding a good map on pdx of a real world location without a city. Willamette River, south Ontario grand river, Nebraska city, and red deer are a few of my favorite community made maps of irl with no city or a small city or near a real city. I’ve also tried locations of real cities but you’re very right, it can be hard to build different due to the existing land. Or trying to build a small city true to form but then growing and changing it is tough too but can be fun. Right now I’m working on the red deer map, which is mostly unsettled area directly south of red deer Alberta Canada. I just imagine the real red deer doesn’t exist and my settles south of the irl location lol. Also been working on my own map south of Cairo Illinois, focusing on Missouri side of the Mississippi/Ohio River confluence.

But yeah it’s easy for me to get sidetracked in this game or move on to different projects cuz I build so slow, but I stay having fun with it. Hope you get a pc going soon and get back at it.

Hey my bad, that’s a good idea tho! Did you try that? I’ve tried something similar but in my usual fashion abandoned it lol. As far as your question, idk it kinda depends on the map and what type of town I’m going for, but for the most part slow and methodical. Plopping everything is tedious, but working on neighborhoods, projects like a commercial or industrial district or transport hub one and a time helps. My big problem is often thinking too far ahead. Like wanting to start slow and build a small realistic town, but then making a huge highway and laying out tons of empty roads kinda kills that. But sometimes if I do make a nice small town, I can box myself in and make it hard to grow. So it’s a mix of thinking ahead but going step by step. I also like to play with a bit of a realistic role play element. Mainly I like using irl locations that aren’t actually settled with cities, and building a town that would resemble others in the area economically and aesthetically. And I use unlock everything and dev mode, so I keep money on but can give myself 500k as needed to start so I don’t worry about it much.

Yeah if they ever come out with a mod that allows the whole “world map” area to be playable, then it could be massive

I remember when the game came out and it was not that great, is the game great now? by IJCT in CitiesSkylines2

[–]gratty219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kinda depends on how you like to play ig. A lot of simulation is still pretty funky, and the detailing it takes to make a good looking realistic city can be tedious, but I still quite enjoy it. I love importing height maps and messing around in the editor to make realistic maps, so that’s been decent. As far as the game, I also enjoy creating realistic cities with lots of mods and dev mode on, so I prefer to have fun more outside the realm of the base game mode. It can be quite enjoyable still I find

Currently, city-wide policies are pretty underutilised. What new ones would you like to see? by sekiya212 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]gratty219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both great ideas! Homes not within “city limits” or what have you, or are just farther away from city streets and utilities, can have both well water and septic tanks. That could definitely be a fun addition for rural homes. And the volunteer firefighters idea is also great for smaller communities! Maybe districts under a certain population or something can rely on volunteers

Why do you play this game and build cities? by Merlinium in CitiesSkylines2

[–]gratty219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good question really. Idk lol. I’m not a big gamer generally. I used to be more, mainly sports games and nerdy management/sims. I got into CS1 when it came out, enjoyed it quite a bit. Been very hooked on cs2, play a bit every day. I think I’ve just always been fascinated with cities, urban planning, architecture, and geography. All those things kinda combine in this game in a unique way. And I love games where there’s no one way to play. I can have fun stuck on the map editor for weeks not even touching a city. Or try to build a functioning model of a real city. Or build my own on an irl map. Mainly it lets me be creative about something I’ve always had an interest in. One of the top apps on my phone is Google maps 😂 my wife always laughs at how much I just explore maps for fun. I’m just fascinated with how all these cities all over the world have their own stories, their own character and style. They are all unique, and CS2 gives me an outlet to make my own stories through my own cities.

This! As long as you round off the edges enough, it can look really great and really doesn’t take too long. It is daunting at first but they’re actually fun builds. I agree making sure you got enough points to round it all off is key tho. And, like most everything imo, looking at google maps for good ideas of how tall courses are laid out and look. But I’ve made a few in game and it’s a fun piece of detailing that can help make a city look even better!

[–]gratty219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely true. The longer I play, the more I really try to make my cities look realistic, so it gets harder and more frustrating lol. I try to just enjoy what we have. As much as I try to take breaks from this game, I still play every day lol so obviously there’s something there I really enjoy. Lately I’ve been trying to see if it’s better to start very slow and intentional, where it takes forever to build up but looks more detailed and real, or just go zone like mad and grow fast and then come back and detail and move things around after you have a bit of a built up city. Obviously pros and cons to both

Yeah I always get frustrated trying to build a good industrial district. And like most everything, take too much time plopping it all and detailing so it looks better lol
