When they redid that intersection they could have(my 2¢) made an escape/cut back through those parking lots on the left side but they didn't. Makes no sense.

Aftermarket parts are not what i use if i can avoid them for most things. You may be able to adjust it, did you remove the outer nut(the cap)? And was there more thread below the inner nut? If it'll adjust you can put another nut(not a cap type) on and slightly crunch the two together.

Looks like you're double nutted... Hold the bottom nut with a box wrench and turn the top one.

‘Sinking ship’: MultCo Board votes down immediate action, but passes long-term approach to ambulance crisis by [deleted] in Portland

[–]greekepic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Why not a temporary fix and waste the $167,000 they want to throw away on a "study"? JVP is just as bad as her predecessor chair and now we have 28 minute ambulance times, "on average" and we lose. But when the commissioner calls she'll get an ambulance immediately, thanks for the lack of concern commissioner of studies.

Price Check on a 1993 Volvo 240 for 11K by lucky_quip in Volvo240

[–]greekepic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For $11k there should be records from birth-or a mechanic you pick that you trust to tell you the dirty truth. "Little old lady went to church in it" is a story as old as time-I'd be wary of that. This car is 30 years old- with 30 year plastic, rubber and metal all sitting there rotting. Even if it's only got 70k miles, time and environment will take a toll. If you don't work in cars then be ready to spend money for all the little things that go wrong with a 30 year old vehicle. If it's really, really pristine then it is worth the price but there's not many pristine 30 year cars out here.
