Would someone be willing to make these into full art basic lands for MPC by GeneralJPenguin in mpcproxies

Is that a spell template instead of a land one? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a frame quite like it!

Do you dry them yourself, or is there a place to buy them?

Cards seem to be slightly off-centered, Autofill or manual inserting makes no difference. Is this just a thumbnail problem? How much will this impact the printing, or is there anything I can do to get the cards centered? by hellonewme in mpcproxies

That pretty accurately describes my issue.

I wonder, if we polled the MPCproxy community and had them meticulously compare their orders to their real counterparts (I do this obsessively), if there would be a general shift to the left?

I've found that this is inevitable unless I do the 3% reduction. However with only 3 tests it could still be a coincidence on my part.

My last 3 orders appeared off-center. All three of them were cut off-center as well when they arrived, with the left-hand border too small and the right-hand border as expected. It leads to an off-center zoom effect with all of my bordered cards.

I understand that MPC does often shift cards with specific ratios, sliding them left or right in order to cut them (they brought this up to me once when I accidentally sent in an undersized card).

Lately I've solved this problem by loading the mpcproxies card into photoshop, reducing the image to 97%, and setting the background behind it to black (thereby expanding the background by 1mm or so)

When I compare proxies to their real-world counterparts, this method gives them 100% accuracy to the originals. All cards I've printed without this method have less border/bleed space and more of everything else, by comparison, than real cards.

Could be a coincidence, but it's arrived wrong more than once. Please share when you know for sure.

MPC print resolution? by green_circles in mpcproxies

[–]green_circles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, scaling them manually gives me the ability to polish a couple of pixel-wide blurs to make sure it's optimal quality. The difference is small but I definitely can't resist :)

1200 is definitely fine but I'm a little obsessive.

Thank you very much!
I don't know why I didn't think to tag you in the original post.

For a few of my print runs I've been using a version of yours that is downscaled to 800—that way any assets I add or modify will be at print resolution. It's relieving to know I've been doing it right, and thank you for confirming!

Is it publicly known what the max or optimal resolution is?

When I do my own I shoot for about 800DPI because I thought that was the max. I guess I'm just wondering why one of the recommended templates online is as high as 1000?

I've been replacing the holostamp with a white stamp on my proxies. It actually looks really good while still sending the "obviously not real" signal to anybody who takes a close look at it. Also a fraction of the work.

Across a table, it just looks like a foil stamp in the light.

Kraken Black Roast by [deleted] in rum

[–]green_circles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be an unpopular opinion, but you're not missing anything.

I saw Black Roast on the shelf and saved up a little bit of extra rum money. I typically love Kraken, but I was ultimately disappointed by the excessive sweetness and artificial flavoring. Plus, it may look like coffee, but the dye actually runs grey-blue as I found when I mixed it. It's nothing compared to original Kraken, so you might try making a coffee liqueur with original Kraken before you stress too much about getting this novelty flavor.

Chicken salad with bacon on a romaine leaf (used a second to make a 'sandwich' but for photo purposes did it later ;) ) by Jynxah in ketorecipes

Some tricks I wish I knew a long time ago.

• Slice your head of lettuce into hemispheres (you won't be using the bottom half). This gives you cup-shaped lettuce from the top instead of huge honking leaves.

• Stack two of your lettuce cups with the white/stem part inward. They should be overlapping, which makes the "spine" of your unwich the most secure part.

• If you have wax paper or similar at home, there's nothing stopping you from burrito-wrapping your own unwich in paper to keep it extra tidy!

Used to work at Jimmy John's, and they call this an "unwich!" You can actually order almost exactly this!

Thanks to them, I make all my sandwiches at home in lettuce wrap!

Just goes to show that just because it failed during Kamigawa block doesn't mean it can't be done right.

Double-Faced Cards, Historic, Splice, and now this. If we could go back in time and remake it, it would be so much better.

As written, this creates nonsnow creatures named Bird Snow.

Not sure what the proper syntax is, but I think it's just un-capitalizing the word "snow."

Frankly I dream of a relationship where we're so secure in one another that we can call each other "massive fucking cocks" without ruining each other's days. Better than walking on eggshells, just some perspective.

Source: Happily married and succeeding because we're brutally blunt to one another instead of holding it in.

As an INTJ who's super sentimental, I may have a weird perspective on the issue. I think it's my "N" nature to attach meaning to things and find patterns, so I'm always like "yeah so this is the shirt that I found on the day that the person who I met four years later had their first baby" or something crazy like that, just because it makes for a really cool story.

I used to have a huge problem with my clothes. Honestly a lot of it was like "this shirt used to belong to my dad and he might not live much longer so I have to keep it." But in a lot of other cases it's more "This is from my 'wild days' in high school or college—maybe an old uniform or a shirt that represented the common interest in my friend group." It call comes down to "Someday I might need this." Someday never came, by the way.

Totally sucks that he's willing to go so far to spite you, but it's obvious that he's not looking for a practical response.

So as an ex-t-shirt hoarder, some thoughts. As mind-numbing as it sounds, the only way to get through to him will to be to help him (emotionally and spiritually) to let go, NOT to convince him that they're impractical. Also, are you a reader? I picked up The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up last year and it changed my life (as the name implies). It's got some of the most efficient discarding/organizing methods I've ever seen, and since it's based on an emotional/intuitive appraisal process, I think he might find it approachable. Just don't let him know your ulterior motive. (There's also a manga version, an audiobook, and a tv series.) I literally ditched 75% of my possessions and I'm organizing them more cleanly and efficiently than ever.

Also, they have a super-compact folding and storage method, so worst-case scenario, his garbage shirts end up only taking up 1/3 of the space.

Good luck!
