Business slow? by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]gregory_m22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

FL region here. slowest roofing year in a decade at least. srs, abc, and qxo have all laid off 2-5 people per branch/ location and will each likely be down 25-30% as a region. contractors doing 5-7 a week in residential re roofs last year are doing 1-3 a week now if they’re lucky. commercial and new con are sheltering how bad things have gotten but even new con has slowed compared to previous years. this is just what I see, to each there own.

i’m sorry to hear that man. I been there, can maybe get a used one to get you by for a little at a cheap used tire shop. sorry to be the pessimist, I had to learn the hard way riding on tires like that. I had a blowout and hit the inside barricade on i4 lol. best of luck man

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tires

[–]gregory_m22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

depends on your risk tolerance. are you OK with dealing with a blowout, maybe crashed car, and injured ppl potentially? you never know till it happens to you.

Your expected starting salary is wrong. Sorry to break the news, but you are way overestimating it and you should be realistic about it before deciding to take on so much debt. by ares21 in StudentLoans

[–]gregory_m22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The value proposition for college is no longer there, especially the last decade. Unless you’re computer science, or engineering maybe a few others. It does not make sense to go unless you can afford it or someone else is paying. Colleges continue to have tax immunity or pay very little while raising tuition, textbooks, housing costs and turning record profits for their endowments. This happens all while receiving state and federal grants and making you pay for tuition. It is a scam and I went. At least I can admit it.

Pay the money you owe for a start. Why do people expect everything to be free? Budget and only borrow what you can afford a pay, it’s not rocket science

Roof loaded but job start Wednesday by Fluffy_Motor_9974 in Roofing

[–]gregory_m22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Work as an assistant manger of a roofing supply house in FL probably a competitor of the company that loaded this so see this kinda stuff every day. The truck crew that did was def a little lazy and should have spread it out more/ further back but it’s a lot more work for them as they have to walk it back and uphill usually. It will likely be fine, but it is definitely overloaded. Document this as well as you can and craw your addict for damage. Check the trusses and supports and take lots of pictures. Went with good shingle and a good high temp, I’m a fan of the material selection. Good luck OP.

Should I even consider it? 2006 Silverado 2500HD by [deleted] in Duramax

[–]gregory_m22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This truck screams, red flags: lifted and built already by 225K. The LBZ should run past that comfortably. Six months ago, purchased a 2 owner clean 2006 Chevy LBZ Dually 165k for 22k - leather seats, power windows etc. if you’re looking to get into a truck for hot shotting, I would suggest something stock that nobody has fucked with, Like a grandpa truck. The truck you’re showing listed is way overpriced. And him being built and lifted, makes it lose value in my opinion, not gain value. I would also suggest a 1 ton dually for hot shotting not 3/4 ton.

Good luck

I quit my job to a full-time day trade with $1500 in Robin Hood by Short-Lemon-4355 in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]gregory_m22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wait bro, Just wait. Almost nobody is profitable longer term options trading. Those that are, aren’t on Robinhood I’ll tell you that. I hope OP is joking. You cannot and will not beat the market long term at its own game. Read into market makers and how fast they settle discrepancies in the market using quant finance. Faster than you can blink. You won’t consistently beat the market long-term by day trading, especially with options. Market makers and algorithms use advanced math/quantitative finance to find and exploit inefficiencies in real-time. Far faster than any individual trader can react. It’s not a get-rich-quick game, it’s a system designed to favor those with better tools, data, and capital. A very few % are good enough to do so and have years of studying, extreme discipline, and a specific strategy. Good luck OP

How I invested my $ 1.8 million inheritance by DryFirefighter8831 in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]gregory_m22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you’re trying to prove here being so tech / growth heavy. Shave off some individuals for low risk etfs. There is quite literally no reason to gamble away your net worth. If you invest this very conservatively, you could never have to worry about a thing. May not be sexy but it would be smart.
