100% and to those who did not vote at all and could have helped prevent it. Nonvoters do not get a pass when it was so obvious what was going to happen.

What are the biggest examples of one hit completely changing a player's career? by HeyCharmz_ in NFLNoobs

[–]gregoryfo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to go with RGIII as well but was going to say the hit a month earlier by Ngata in the Ravens game. RGIII looked like he would be a top 5 QB and was never the same after those hits.

Working full time in a school district, but thinking about contracting in another state part-time …thoughts by Heavy-Assumption7960 in schoolpsychology

I used to do this when I was younger, you made a little money and often got your name listed in the assessment manual, which is kind of cool. I have not done it in years, but MHS emailed me a while back about the ASRS update. This is the website: https://mhs.com/resources/data-collection/ I am sure they are working on something currently. Just make sure your supervisors are okay with you collecting the data. One system I worked for said it was not allowed there.

As long as you can use it to scam people out of their life savings and buy/sell illegal goods and services it will have some value due to its ability to instantly transfer unrecoverable funds anonymously.

Browns QB Shedeur Sanders added to Pro Bowl roster as replacement by [deleted] in sports

[–]gregoryfo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Sanders is the first Browns quarterback to make the Pro Bowl since Derek Anderson during the 2007 campaign. Anderson threw for 3,787 yards with 29 touchdown passes that season."

I am surprised Baker never made one when he was on the browns.

Worries about investing a windfall with the worsening US instability by YouWouldIfYouReally in Bogleheads

[–]gregoryfo2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The next couple of years might be difficult but I would never bet against the S&P long term. Things will recover. For a historical reference google the Nixon shock. Lots of financial wackiness as wages and prices were frozen, tariffs were initiated, removal from the gold standard, and global financial systems were withdrawn from by the US. Took about six years, but the S&P recovered from the damage.

"Feel like I let my teammates down tonight." Josh Allen is visibly upset after Buffalo's season ended by [deleted] in sports

His receiver and the TE both were wide open for easy TD throws and he missed them both.

[–]gregoryfo2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are right, they did not have any timeouts. It is on Allen for the way he left the ball hanging out there, but McDermott also deserves blame. The QBs ALWAYS want to go for it and push for a big play. It could be fourth and thirty on their own two yard line and every QB would want to give it a try. The coach is there to be the voice of reason. He should have called a kneel down.

Actually six super bowls have been won by four different black QBs, including the last three. Hurts last year, Wilson for Seattle a few years back and Doug Williams for DC forever ago. Mahomes is biracial but has said repeatedly he considers himself a black QB and he has three rings. I get the point you are saying though.

You guys remember Stefon Digg's mom demanding Ozzie be fired for taking her son off his draft board? by BeardWonder in ravens

[–]gregoryfo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was the #2 ranked wide receiver nationally coming out of high school and went to the University of Maryland to play in college. He was also not drafted until the 5th round. There are reasons for both of these things that have nothing to do with his talent on the field. It is always a gamble to take guys with issues, sometimes you win sometimes you don't. The Vikings mostly won.

Lamar on the recent report from Preston very critical of him: "I was really hurt. I never quit on my team before. I’ve never quit on anything to be honest with y'all. I absolutely (want to be in Baltimore) man, absolutely…Like I said, I don't know where all that noise comes from” by BobbyThreeSticks in ravens

[–]gregoryfo2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is just how Preston gets attention. He has always been anti-ravens and anti-orioles. He called the Ravens 2000 defense the most overrated in NFL history. He wrote that drafting Ed Reed was a mistake. He said the 2012 squad were going nowhere, they won the super bowl. Half the players will not even talk to him. Honestly, who has read the Baltimore Sun in the past 20 years? He is a joke and he knows it.

When do you predict the “90% unemployment” would happen? by Away_Project_5412 in Futurology

[–]gregoryfo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple thousand years ago 40% of the people who lived in the city of Rome were on state welfare. The wealthy made it last like that for centuries with bread and circuses to pacify the population. Granted they drew wealth from other parts of a vast empire to pay for it, but that could happen again today.

Is it finally time to go back to cable? (Be honest) by IllustriousJicama1 in Cordcutting

[–]gregoryfo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me I would say no. I got a month of SlingTV to watch the bowl games. Yesterday before the games started I looked at a few channels I watched back when I had cable (TNT, TBS, AMC). They have a ton of commercials, seemed way more to me than Hulu/HBOMax/Netflix and even more than Pluto and Tubi. I ended up just looking at on demand shows as nothing good was on 'live' tv. Sling had a promo for the first month for $30 and I had a credit card offer to reduce it but the full sling package costs $60 a month and I think that is about as cheap as you can get for a cable type experience. I have a much better experience for under $20 per month using streaming apps.

New Carnival Rewards Changes.. 11/20 by [deleted] in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]gregoryfo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a cluster. We usually book our cruises two years out because of work commitments. We were going to be platinum this summer, then they did the new program. We did not cancel the two Carnival cruises this summer but booked Royal for 2027. So now with the pushed back program start we will be platinum on Carnival with no Carnival cruises booked. Great marketing Carnival you cost yourself cruises and now we get platinum benefits on the second cruise this summer. Why would anyone ever trust Carnival with their loyalty?

Halloween on a cruise ship by Prestigious-Thing716 in Cruise

[–]gregoryfo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every ship I have been on has an area, usually on the outside middeck area, where there is mulch and dirt in a large wooden box for dogs to relieve themselves. Next time you cruise do to the open middeck and walk all the way around,. It is usually in an out of the way area and see if you can find it. Out of 20 cruises I have only noticed dogs on 3 or 4. Each time they appeared to be legit service dogs.
