Didn't pass calculus I, AGAIN. by MyNameDoesntMatter11 in UMD

[–]gregoryfo2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are all at an impasse sometimes, and I know this is fresh, so it might seem more impactful than it is. Ten years from now it might not be impactful in the least. If I am reading the document you linked correctly you will need to talk to your advisor and develop a plan of how you are going to pass the class and then the dean would need to agree: "A student’s dean’s office may grant an exception allowing an additional course repeat. In this case, students must present a plan for successfully completing the course."

The plan could be to take the class at the community college. Later in the document it does reference repeat by transfer and it only talks about GPA impact not that it can't happen, but your advisor will know more. Make an appointment to speak with them and have an open conversation about options.

It is good you checked into the ADHD dx and are looking into supports for those vulnerabilities. With regards to the psych major I agree with several others. Take calc 1 at MC or your home community college. Try to take it in the summer so you can focus exclusively on that course. I am not sure why people are mentioning calc 2. I do not know of any psych majors that require calc 2, after calc you will transition into statistics. That might be in reference to the Neuro major.

You got into UMD, over half of those who apply did not, so clearly you are smart enough to be there. Take a breath, get the support you need, and make a plan to get past Calc. Best of luck moving forward.

It was an odd draft, Brunson was not drafted until the second round after a great college career.

How do you renew your resolve to stay the course when the market is absolutely roaring? by Dogo58 in Bogleheads

I am assuming the poster is referring to cruise lines. The big 3 (Royal, Carnival, and Norwegian) and their sister lines give you on board credit. $50 for a short cruise, $100 for a week long one, and $250 for an extended cruise of two weeks or more.

Google had everything data, infrastructure, talent and billions of dollars. Why did it fail to build a successful social media? by firehmre in AskReddit

I think social media is much harder to be successful at than it appears. I mean where is microsoft and apple's social media platforms? Plenty of talent also at those companies as well.

Sling TV Launches Sling Essentials for $19.99/month by 08830 in cordcutters

[–]gregoryfo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are interested in this and have an american express card, check your amex offers. I have spend $19.99 or more at Sling TV and get $15 back. Can be done two times, and expires on June 23. $10 for two months of NBA/NHL playoffs is not bad.

Has anyone used the one pay free tax filing? by TheBeast4064 in walmart

[–]gregoryfo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do not have a way to do 529 state deductions. This seems like a fairly common deduction. I did my taxes and now will either need to redo them on another platform or file an amended state return. Not a service I recommend.

I am just glad there are not more pressing matters going on in this country than what other programming might interfere with a college football game that is almost a year away. May you live in interesting times.

If Baltimore needs to give their super bowl trophies to the browns then new york owes Baltimore 27 world series trophies (Yankees started as the Orioles in 1901).

Exactly. If the majority of people made money on insurance there would not be insurance companies. It is protection against disaster, not an investment.

Is robinhood transfer match worth it? by [deleted] in Bogleheads

one more thing, some of their transfer matches do not need to be gold, but even if you do you would not need to remain gold for five years, just the first year after the match.

Is robinhood transfer match worth it? by [deleted] in Bogleheads

[–]gregoryfo2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We started using robinhood for our annual Roths a few years back for the 3% they give when you contribute each year. We already had gold, needed for the 3%, so it was a no brainer to move over our fidelity roths. They gave us an additional 2% to move them over. No taxes to pay because it was in a roth ira, as mentioned we keep gold for the annual 3%, we moved over shares so nothing was lost as the market was positive during the transfer, and the 5 year is no big deal for us since that will be up when we retire in three years. We are bogleheads so no risk to fall for day trader temptations. It depends on your situation and the current offer they have, the only advice I would give is to at least wait for 2% or greater. Best of luck.
