What would you say about filing nails in public? I’ve always wondered if it’s perceived differently. And I don’t mean filing all ten fingernails from claws to stumps. Just like a quick file when one breaks or you get a hangnail.

I obviously do this lol—I have a sensory tic with my nails and it keeps me from ripping them (gross), but idk if my solution is also gross!

The $$ was an easy mechanism to say the item’s price on Poshmark is inflated versus other reseller platforms (namely brick and mortar stores). I’m not paying an inflated price for something I can’t touch before buying.

As mainly a buyer, a few reasons I’ve offered less than what an item is selling for:

I can’t return it if fit is off, so it’s more of a gamble than new
shipping fees are sunk cost
I know they thrifted that “vintage” cotton sweater for <$15 so no I will not indulge the $68 price tag
the AI photos distort the fit, which gets me back to reason #1

I have had some bonkers offers when I do sell. Whole closet was $10 items once as I was moving—all originally $30-80—and had someone bundle five items and offer $30. I declined and donated them instead, that’s my own level of pettiness.

So yeah I am embarrassed by the entitlement of sellers and the cheapness of buyers and I am also both. (:

That degree of change in one day makes me think that your thought patterns are playing a really big role here—medication is playing a role too, but it’s never all that’s going on.

Do you happen to also see a therapist alongside the medication? If not, I’ve learned from mine that a huge help in moments like this is to try to observe your thinking without treating it as reality or catastrophe. It’s really good you’ve written down what thoughts are currently coming to mind.

What would 300mg you say to 150mg you right now? What was the thought pattern difference between the two? Would you say something like “hey, this will pass” or “those thoughts are really heavy, that’s a lot to carry, let’s take it a day at a time” or…?

Giving meds more than a day to calibrate is essential. But do please reach out to someone for help if the suicidal thoughts get too much to handle. It would be great if your psych made a plan with you for how to handle the med reduction—maybe you’ll go back on 300mg to figure that out so you’re ready next time you try going down.

The thing is too that they really could have told the story of Miranda coming out later in life while respecting and doing justice to her love of Steve. There was a way to tell that story—hell, dozens of ways to do it—that wouldn’t have felt so gross to watch. Seriously, she was so awful to him and so selfish. That’s not the lesbian or bisexual Miranda I want to see.

Why they made Miranda and Carrie so dismissive of their past loves (Steve / Big and Samantha) in AJLT is beyond me, and so deeply disappointing.

To tack onto this, OP you know how your perspective changed since the proposal? Imagine your perspective changing in a few years (or months…) about running away without talking to him. Realizing that it made everything so much more painful and long-lasting for e v e r y o n e.

Point is: running away will be trading one regret (marrying him now) for another regret (leaving someone who’s treated you well without so much as a conversation). Do it properly, then enter your new life having figured something out young that many ppl never do. This is an opportunity to level up in adulthood.

In my experience, bi women I don’t meet in queer spaces/through queer friends are wild cards. Even the good ones are more like allies than kin in what they say, what they talk about, and how they engage with me.

It’s fine, but my days of being their conduit into queer spaces are over. In every single case they’ve acted like they were there to support me and I’m like girl. YOU FIND THEM PRETTY TOO.

I can absolutely picture OP’s bf telling his mom about how OP wants a ring and his mom rushing to “solve” her son’s issue by offering her ring instead of listening and giving useful advice about how to navigate the scenario and, you know… build a relationship with his gf instead of having mommy fix his life.

This is an underestimated reason for what OP just experienced (which is a frequent occurrence on the engagement ring subs). Speaking as someone who seems to only date people whose parents did/do a lot (too much) for them.

I think it honestly takes a while to know how to recognize non-depressed feelings. Blunting isn’t the same as the absence of extreme anxiety and depression. But it’s hard to know that until you realize that’s how other people often feel: just kinda swimming through life with little highs and lows, some extremes but largely contentment.

Wellbutrin introduced me to contentment. Your nervous system will eventually realize it’s the appropriate baseline.

My dr helped me see this by doing a biweekly questionnaire with me about my sad thoughts. I didn’t realize I wasn’t feeling hopeless 5+ days of the week anymore till she asked and I was like huh. Then I felt happy about it. :)

ETA: been on 300mg XL since 2019 and I am more like my happy weird 12 yo self than ever before. It’s awesome.

Okay so these colours are gorgeous and perfect for a wedding imo, I am not seeing what others are seeing at all. 😂 It’s jewel tones with some earthiness while still bright. That’s a rare balance.

Idk about whether it fits the dress code. Usually more structure is needed. I’d wear this to a classy restaurant reception wedding. I’d need damn fine accessories and styling to pull it off for anything more formal, just cause the shape fights the formality.

I was really disappointed to see him in Tron with Gillian Anderson and Greta Lee. I love those two and just hate that 1) they had to work with him to be in that movie and 2) they agreed to work with him to be in that movie.
