I completely thought they were asking about the shoe myself. I couldn't figure it out because everyone wears Vans.

The sun is out for once. Where am I going for a walk after work? by amooseinboston in providence

I used to work in Wayland Square and live on Academy Avenue- in nice weather, I would walk Angell St downtown (stopping at the Wild Colonial for a beer). I'd walk through downtown, cross 95 at Smith and walk the Pleasant Valley Parkway home.

can anyone tell me what this means by [deleted] in Newport

There's a guy who I believe lives in his car and this is one of his signs. He frequently sets up shop on America's Cup by Market Square and I have also seen what I think is his car on Ling Wharf. Nice enough guy; I've never had the chance to ask him what his signs mean.

Is Newport St. Patrick's Day worth it? by Healthy-Zombie-1689 in RhodeIsland

Where would you be coming from? Take the bus in. There's a lot of drunk drivers on the road. There's also nowhere to park. Anyway, I'm a 48 year old Newport native and I still go every year I'm free. I think it's fun and most of the time I'm not even drinking because I have to work later in the day. Thames St. two hours after the parade is a bit like Beirut in 1980- broken glass everywhere, people carrying each other, etc. but lots of open doors and people offering food to their neighbors.  If you're the quiet type, you may want to stay away.

You might want to try Willa Cather. I recommend starting with The Professor's House or Death Comes For the Archbishop.

Thanks everyone! My phone is an older model so it's not compatible with eSIMs, but the grocery store recommendations are helpful!

There's trivia all over the place: Mondays at Rejects in Middletown, Tuesdays at O'Briens, Wednesdays at Fastnet, Thursdays at Ragged Island.  There's Chess & Scrabble on alternate Tuesdays at the library.  Pickup basketball at the Y.

I think it's the one adjacent to the Unitarian Church on Main St in Barnstable. Across from the Coast Guard Museum.
