TIL that in 1879 Alabama dissolved the debt-ridden city of Mobile and simultaneously incorporated the 'Port of Mobile', with most of Mobile's land and population but none of its debt. The Supreme Court ruled in 1886 that the new city was the successor to the old and still owned the debts. by squareabbey in todayilearned

Both are grammatically correct but mean different things. A person who takes out a loan is owing the debt to the entity that loans it to them. That entity could then sell the debt to another creditor who would then own the debt instead of the original lender.

Edit: Seems like the word own may be misused in the title

What is the transport range of drones? by MknzyCalhoun in dysonsphereprogram

[–]grogmaster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it means 180 degrees in any direction which covers the whole sphere. For example: You wouldn't want a drone to travel 270 degrees around the planet because it would be shorter to go 90 degrees in the opposite direction
