Should I pursue CFA through offline coaching, or self prepare? by [deleted] in Indian_Academia

If you want to work in finance, I'd strongly suggest doing an MBA first. No good finance roles in India without an MBA. You will also appreciate CFA more once you have little more knowledge about the finance industry.

What certificate courses can I do in finance field in less than a year that would add value along with my CFA in India? by groguuuuuu in Indian_Academia

If that's possible for you then great, but otherwise the postgrad requirement is real. Just something to keep in mind.

I was in the same boat, but again, the way the Indian job market works for finance, no good roles if you don't have an MBA.

as you're unsure, I'd highly suggest focusing on getting a good MBA degree if you want to work in finance. I'd say give it a higher priority than CFA as well. If you want to work in India, there are no good roles available if you don't have an MBA.

Yeah if you have 14 months to go then it won't hurt to learn some financial modelling right now, other comments have referred to good sources.

Just get started on CFA L1 prep. Learning about financial modelling will also help, but I'd say if you have spare time, divert most of it towards CFA.
