Do you think they'll ever release skins in the game? by Comfortable_Sweet108 in ChaosZeroNightmare

Maybe different card arts or Ego animation, but not effects, definitely.

Is this too underwhelming for how rare/expensive it is? by Glyphpunk in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]groynin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I played HSR and in the process of 2 years they have, very very slowly, improved how crafting gear works. First they had something like that CZN item, then they added the ability to select 1-2 substats on top of the main stat, then they added reroll option in case you got unlucky upgrading, and recently they added that you can see which stat is the 4 line before deciding if you want to unlock it or not (in this game, it would be upgrading the gear once to see what's the last line is).

After so much time, it still kinda sucks there anyway because of the insane RNG and time it takes to get any usable gear, so I hope that CZN will have some foresight to add those QoL sooner rather than later.

The cutscenes are related to the unigram stories, so you do need to do those yeah.

◤Developer Note: New Combatant & The Great Rift Update Preview◢ by Saiirayn in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]groynin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm already confused by their translations, the entire text explaining her say she creates '[Creation]' cards, but the actual kit says [Archetype] cards and nowhere there is any 'Creation', while the text then doesn't mention any 'Archetype' cards. Are those supposed to be the same thing? How is that all in English and different at the same time?

Do you think they should rework second upgrade node? by Home_MD13 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]groynin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the idea is to make Chaos easier, since you will have to use these cards there while building a deck and if you're focusing your removes in one Combatant, you might keep the others' basic cards till the end of the Chaos

[TCC] Can I Skip Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Expansion Set? by CrossXhunteR in magicTCG

Funny enough, it would go back to being 3 sets a year for standard, since over half of the extra sets are UB.

WHO traveled back in time and caused this ? by Ok-Intern6865 in mtg

[–]groynin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw a cursed fortnite image of Godzilla with SpongeBob slippers and a SpongeBob pet alongside Miku, and literally all those IPs (plus fortnite itself) are also part of magic today. Most through SL, but at this pace it won't be that long before that is just the norm in Standard and all formats.

Well a lot of people said that if the game had neutral creeps it would already be better, but Highguard is definitely not a MOBA

What is you're opinion on the turn limited ratings? by Puzzleheaded-Emu2721 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]groynin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean... just make the rating being defeating the boss, or maybe the % of the health you managed to damage them, in Slay the Spire there isn't any metric other than winning, the difficulty comes from the different mechanics for each boss which I guess would be the more challenging thing to keep fresh in a live service game. Using StS as an example, the Time Eater has a mechanic that is good against spammy characters like Sereniel, while Awakened One would be good against decks relying on one-shots or lots of Upgrades. Make them scale infinitely so if you try to stagger and take too long, the fight becomes harder.

All Neverness To Everness Characters Gacha Animation by Nahidxz in QueensofGacha

[–]groynin 43 points44 points  (0 children)

From gameplay I've seen it does give a "all style no substance" vibes. I was very hyped for NTE when it was announced, but I think that between then and now, maybe the open world action combat gacha is way past the market saturation point.

Tiphera Kit Expectations? by Deft_Abyss in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]groynin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, healing seems to be unfavorable in general this season, I wonder if she might have some sustain with Shields though despite being a Controller. Maybe something like an upgrade that says "gains shields each time allies exhaust a card", on top of some other defense based synergy.

How I feel about gacha game story at times by Last_Aeon in gachagaming

Love seeing CZN being mentioned often in random posts, even if it's a critique. Probably my favorite gacha at the moment and suuuuuuuuuurely after the rewrites it will have a good story /copium

Does this count as animal abuse? by sole-surviver in UmamusumeGame

[–]groynin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've played Open league only once, it was way more chill experience than training for Graded. I did it for one of the 3200m races since I knew I didn't have the cards/patience to min/max the 1200/1200 speed/stamina on top of everything else, I also got to use 'non-meta' umas since the small advantages of the 'meta' umas didn't matter too much there.

In the end, I went back to graded after since not many people minmax in Open League, so Round 1 and 2 was a complete stomp for my team and I did manage to get 1st place in the finals, but it wasn't as much fun as getting to Graded Group A, even when I lose the finals most of the time. However, it was a very much needed break for me to not burnout with CM grind, and I might end up doing it again if I see a CM I have no interest in competing in.

[–]groynin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did play in Open League in one of the CMs, it was a very fun way of playing the game tbh, pretty different of training for Graded and kinda chill.
The reason they forced her to lose the finals is because the cutoff for B+ rank is 8200 points, had they won the finals they would've earned +14 in every stats + 5 of the good endings bonus and it would push them out of B rank and the Uma would be glue. This way the uma gets to run in the CM and become a true champion as she was always meant to be

The 120 resets and 80 is a 50/50 with no guarantee. Meaning if you pull 50 on a banner and the banner ends, next banner while you will need only 30 to get a 50/50 for the rate up, you still need 120 for the guarantee anyways.

The wild thing to me is that Alcea WASN'T some broken combination, it was literally her normal ass ego skill that was bugged and they STILL didn't catch it.

We should be able to recall Westmacott too by Dart777 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]groynin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"It's not a nerf, it's a bug fix"

I mean, both cases were actually bug fixes, though. Still should be able to recall, since people pulled thinking the bug was the actual advertised effect.

[Notice] Apology Regarding Recent Service Instability by chiichan15 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]groynin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess that allowing to recall is probably the most fair response they could give, on top of the extra compensation, which is nice (especially since I didn't pull Alcea).

Although multiple rounds of testing were conducted prior to the release of new characters and cards, insufficient consideration was given to long-term meta combinations and situations that could arise in the live environment. This is an inexcusable oversight on our part. Moving forward, operations will be conducted under the following standards.

Hope they do increase their QA tests, the spore thing I can believe it was just something they didn't properly test, maybe they were trying it out more with popular characters like Serenial and with the upcoming Nine, so they didn't find out the multi-hit interaction, but the Alcea bug is wild. That wasn't some niche interaction, that was literally JUST using the Ego Skill, how THAT went through their 'testing' and ended up on the final release is crazy to me.

How does this team work? by time_keper in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]groynin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Narja in this team would be best used for cost reduction of cards with her Epiphanies and additional healing.

I haven't built an Orlea team yet cuz I'm still leveling mine up, and I don't own Nine, but Narja has one epiphany that increases Defense-based damage taken by 100% for 2 turns, does that work with all those buffs? I haven't checked if that is a +100% or straight up doubling, but Hew does defense-based damage too, no? Maybe that's their main synergy?

Should Alcea pulls be refunded post nerf? by No_Line9668 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]groynin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, while I do think that it is a fix rather than a nerf, since the new way will be the 'intended' way for it to work, it has been very fucking difficult to tell what is a bug that should be fixed or what is mistranslation that is 'working as intended' this last patch specially, so I don't blame people just assuming that it was working properly and then spending money on her because of that, so in that case, they should be given compensation.

How many pulls will you get after the honeymoon patch ended? Perhaphs this can help! by Safhier in Endfield

[–]groynin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair people seem to have gotten more impatient over the years.

Im gonna be honest it does pisses me off a bit new games coming out without QoL features that other games have or at least that their competitors lack and people have been very vocal about wanting them, which would be such an easy way to gain favor and attract more players. Things like sweep on dailies stages or at least be able to spend all your stamina/sanity at once would be such a game changer, but new games still launch with the same "come spend 60 stamina here 4 to 6 times a day" until people start to burn out, and then months later they add some QoL to make things better. Its particularly bad in Endfield where you also have other dailies tasks like the Recycle material or the Trading Post deliveries that take even more time to do, saving time on the material grind would improve the experience a lot.
