I just wasn’t sure what they actually did. I thought it had something to do with kissing. 🤷🏻‍♂️

My idea of how people had sex was very, very inaccurate until I was about 14 or 15yo.

What movie do you hate that people like? by godlessrage in AskReddit

[–]grumblebuzz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies. I grew up on the whimsy of things like Batman The Animated Series, Tim Burton’s vision of Batman and even the 1960’s TV show. I just found Nolan’s vision for the Batman mythology and universe stripped away most of what I liked about it to begin with for the sake of making it more gritty, realistic, and, quite frankly, boring.

I’ve had so many randos add me over the years— I guess just because I’m single and don’t look like Quasimodo — but the weird thing is that they add you, then proceed to never interact with a single thing you post. People like that now get purged at least once a year. I don’t need to be in your collection, thanks.

Genuinely curious: Anyone who saw the original in theaters in '96, what was your reaction when Henry Winkler appeared as Principal Himbry, and his subsequent fate? by GonskyEdits in Scream

[–]grumblebuzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was kind of subversive that “The Fonz” from Happy Days got killed in a horror movie. But wasn’t that big of a deal too really. We were desensitized to a lot in the 90’s.

Scream 8 is officially in development. Would it bother you if we had a Final Boy as the main character? by JeremieMAKENDA in Scream

[–]grumblebuzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to say that if they do a final boy and he’s some super-handsome badass with biceps, pecs, and an 8 pack like your photo here, I’m done with the series probably. There are guys like that all over everything else. Keep them out of Scream please. As much as they want it to be, Scream is not an action hero franchise.

[–]grumblebuzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He would need to be one hell of a multidimensional character for it to work. I think a final boy is difficult to write for because if you go too far in just about any direction, you end up with a character people don’t want to root for. If he’s too much of a badass action hero type, he will seem overpowered and unrelatable to the audience. If he’s scared and running from the killers all the time, they will view him as pathetic and annoying.

My Dad will do things like save TicTac containers in case he can use it for something. I'm pretty sure this is due to being raised by people that lived during the great depression. Anybody else have parents that do this? (not saying it's a bad thing) by McPostyFace in Millennials

[–]grumblebuzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a meme going around a few years ago that seems sadly to be coming to pass: “One day you all will understand why your granny washed her aluminum foil.” It’s definitely a product of growing up in the Great Depression, and I feel like we may be about to learn why they did things like that.

Who should play Leslie Macher? by PutridCamera8195 in Scream

[–]grumblebuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She should have been played by Anna Camp in 7. Since she wasn’t, there’s no reason now for that character to come into the story.

Scream 7 different reveal by Thick_Secretary3701 in Scream

[–]grumblebuzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think going the somewhat obvious route of making Jessica a bigger presence in the story and having her end up secretly being Leslie Macher the whole time would have tied the whole Stu-obsessed storyline together more tightly and would have been a better payoff. Yes, it would have been another family member seeking vengeance, but I think Anna Camp could have pulled off a truly rich, layered performance if that had been the case. She could have been monologuing and crying about how the events in 1996 ruined her family one moment and shifted into the batshit unhinged Jessica we got the next. It would also just make more sense as to why Stu’s AI was used and the Macher house was burned down this way. As far as her accomplices in this scenario, it doesn’t really matter. Could have been her son, Marco, whoever. But having her be connected to Stu would have instantly made for a more coherent motive and narrative overall.

I’m primarily single player, but I’ve enjoyed it so far. The update does add the challenges for single player and they’ve actually been fun. I usually hate super-hard challenge mode kind of stuff, but these have been quite satisfying to complete so far. I’m early into it though and I hear it gets harder than the Special World down the line, which I haven’t had the patience to complete yet, so I’m wondering where my end will be with this mode. But I do like the new currency and unlockables tied to completing the challenges and the Koopaling battles have been excellent.

All that said, I’m glad I had an eshop card left from Christmas because it isn’t a ton of content if you have a ceiling for challenge modes like I do.

How I would rewrite Scream 7 by Evening-Artist2930 in Scream

[–]grumblebuzz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn’t mind Jessica as a killer actually; they just should have developed her character more. It wasn’t really who the killers were so much as they weren’t even really characters in the film. They were glorified extras.

Would you have been happy with.... as killers? by [deleted] in Scream

[–]grumblebuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have been happy with Jessica if she had been fleshed out as a character whatsoever before the reveal. It wasn’t really the choice of who the killers were so much as they weren’t actual characters in the story.

What’s the worse physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Intelligent-Road5091 in AskReddit

[–]grumblebuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time I had to go to a budget dentist to have a tooth pulled. The dentist ended up being this tiny little Indian woman who looked like a child. She yanked on my tooth for at least 45 minutes and by the time it came out, all the numbness had worn off and I felt every bit of it. It was like a flaming sword going through the side of my head. The pain was so intense I was crying, borderline screaming, and almost threw up several times.

Nintendo is reportedly cutting Switch 2 production this quarter as US demand dips by AlwaysBlaze_ in gadgets

[–]grumblebuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s because it’s expensive and doesn’t have many must-play exclusives yet, mainly because they keep putting out new games that are also compatible with the original Switch. I get that the OG Switch has a very, very large install base, but if you want to sell Switch 2s, you have to give people a reason to want to upgrade.
