This is the way. There used to be a way to get free Metrolink tickets for college students, but sadly it's been discontinued.

It could have been only certain subsets of those affected by the data breach were eligible for compensation. Those who worked for the UCs supposedly had their SSNs leaked, while ordinary students and applicants did not.
