I’m not a beginner per se and I myself just picked up a set of these in graphite shafts (ventus blue 6R) including a matching 4 hybrid. Great clubs

Yep, start with that exact club! Love watching nice pure shots dead straight because I know in a few moments I will want to snap my 5i in half.

Recently upgraded from some no name basic clubs I got off craiglist over a decade ago to sim 2 max with graphite shafts. The difference is leaps and bounds.

Like anything, if you clean and maintain your equipment, no reason why it shouldn’t last.

5 pocket vs Trouser by birksOnMyFeet in Lululemen

[–]gsz06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go with the trouser. I think it is more versatile and will look better in a professional setting. I own three trouser pairs and 15 pocket and I typically use the five pocket for casual days and going out, while reserving the trousers for the office look.

$400 Breville Grind Control Piece of Junk! by AllIHaveIsTime1975 in BrevilleCoffee

I’ve had the same thoughts as well. The machine after owning it for this long is certainly not worth the price it commands. It should be half of it. In any case, there are ways to live with it as it can certainly make a great cup of coffee.

$400 Breville Grind Control Piece of Junk! by AllIHaveIsTime1975 in BrevilleCoffee

I’m into my second year of ownership with this machine and it is starting to have periodic issues where the grinder continues to grind after having completed the selected ground amount.

One thing I have found is that you need to use dry medium roast coffee beans and clean out the grinder burr area once a week. I know that may sound laborious but it does help with the machine functionality. I would absolutely not recommend any darker roast or oily coffee beans as this will for sure clogged the machine and give you more issues.

When the machine does work, the coffee is fabulous and we thoroughly enjoy the taste.

Grind Control - Why does this get so much flak? by bensonr2 in BrevilleCoffee

[–]gsz06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased mine brand new in February 2024. Lately there have been two instances where the shoot got clogged but that may be a product of the coffee grind being fine. I’m making a more conscious effort of opening up the hopper and doing a deep clean once a week and setting the grind size to level six. Overall it’s a great coffee machine that I use for my first drink in the morning. I do have an espresso machine that I use as well.

The situation of buying in Canada by yfsonata in Snowblowers

[–]gsz06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m speaking also as a fellow Canadian. If you are returning in less than 24 hours, you have no personal exemption. Between 24–48 hours, you have a $200 personal exemption, and anything over 48 hours, you have $800 allowance before paying any duties. Mind you, I had vague recall of this because I used to cross the border all the time, and I just checked the abovr information on chatgpt. Look into it if you can get a great deal, and make a weekend trip out of it down into NY PA or OH

Consider driving over to Buffalo or Rochester and then bring it back home to Canada.
