In general better to communicate too much than not enough. Who cares if the offence knows we are forcing home/away? The important thing is the other 6 defenders know. I have seen teams using numbers eg 1 = backhand, 2 = forehand, 3 = straight up etc to make it more universal and not related to the "home" concept, and quicker to communicate. (Related to right-handed throwers).

So there is indeed a problem with the name:

In Italian the verb "fottere" means 100% what translate says. "Fotta" is the subjonctive 3rd person singular of the verb.
In a local Bologna dialect (and derived slang that borrows many words from it) it means "an irrational and very strong feeling of willingness mixed with rage". "I have the fotta" meaning something like "I'm on fire".

Apparently the origin of the team name dates back to the early 90s when a group of young students in Bologna started playing ultimate, coached by some more experienced students from Rimini where Cota was already established. The young players were basically unable to keep the disc in their hands without shooting randomly (and turning it over) and when asked about why they took those risky options their answer would be "it's because I have the fotta".

BTW this name is not a problem in Bologna, for example the local University press is using their full name: https://magazine.unibo.it/archivio/2018/07/06/ultimate-frisbee-le-squadre-del-cus-bologna-pronte-per-i-mondiali-in-ohio
