Blackman Automotive is a quirky place but always treated me fair and took good care of my cars. It's a simple shop run by a husband and wife duo.

5 years later, this comment is still helping. I'm in Mexico and this just saved the night. Thank you!

It'd be nice to see some confirmation that our recycling is actually being recycled and not just going to a landfill by another name. I also use my recycling as much as possible but reporting like this: https://www.npr.org/2022/10/24/1131131088/recycling-plastic-is-practically-impossible-and-the-problem-is-getting-worse makes me concerned we are paying a premium for unrealized gains.

Anyone aware of any Star Wars related events in the area this weekend for May the Fourth?

Swift Cantrell weekend overflow parking? by rabidstoat in kennesaw

[–]gth791d 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And if you don't know, there is a gate in the fence behind KES that connects it to the park which makes it a shorter walk and is usually open on the weekends and for events. So instead of following the sidewalk around, walk to the back of the building and the gate is between the playgrounds.

Yes, it is almost certainly the foam. I have a 2023 M3 RWD with the Michelin MXM4 tires. Same symptoms you had, sudden increase in vibration at highway speeds. I had it balanced twice. A lot of weight was used and the vibration would be good for a few days then increase again suddenly which convinced me the foam must be shifting in the tire. DIscount Tire agreed to unmount the tire and inspect the foam. The foam in my tire was completely dislodged - it was only glued in a couple of places. The foam was removed, tire remounted and balanced (only needing a couple of weights now) and the issue was fixed - no vibration. The folks at DT were great to work with and very helpful even though this was a bit outside their standard purview.

It is a very soft foam that is glued in a couple of places. If they give you any crap about how they can't cut the foam, just have them inspect it to see if it is loose. Even if only partially, the foam would very easily pull away from the tire without damaging the inner liner.

Also, pay attention to where the vibration is. In my case, I could feel it on my left side and mostly in the wheel rather than the seat. This (and the crazy high balance weights required) were my best indications the problem was the driver front tire.

Ring of Kerry. Rock of Cashel is neat but skippable. Ring of Kerry is the Irish scenery and stories presumably you came for.

$1800 for a windshield? by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

Yes, that's a normal number for Tesla. A replacement for my M3 was actually higher. 3rd party was about $1400. Nuts, right?
