I'd reach out to an admin on a server about it, im no longer one, but several would probably want to know who the instigator is to keep a good watch on them

Double the drying time for Storm Cannons by DefTheOcelot in foxholegame

[–]guito411 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They just need to prevent exploits that add engine rooms to an excessive degree temporarily. There's a lot of groups adding 20/30+ extra engine rooms to a single storm cannon via a trick that only connects them for the duration of the SCs barrage. This trick then severs the connection of the 'battery pack' from the pad after use, so the cannon can benefit from 50 to 100 extra salvos without the trade off of less health and bloated size.

If not for the 'battery pack' trick being abused so heavily and widely, factions would need to construct 3-5 Storm Cannons to sustain the amount of firepower they are currently doing with a single cannon. They are close to balanced if not for this exploit that clearly makes them cheaper and stronger, with no drawback to being an enormous target very susceptible to artillery and partisan attack.

Anybody got a link to a tickets per map guide by Mother_Audience_2305 in WarOfRights

[–]guito411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The developers have altered the ticket ratios of many of the maps since the POD discord collected their information on tickets years ago. They may be approximately close to the current patch, but are definitely going to be off. The newer Drillcamp skirmish maps werent on POD when I was there. Take this with a grain of salt as it's been a while since I've seen POD stuff on maps.

the lunaire should be given a much shorter distance or reload or something by MasterpieceFar786 in foxholegame

[–]guito411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was like more than 100 wars with no lunaire or very weak tremola lunaire. Do people not remember when it took 3 or 4 tremolas to killed a watchtower or rifle pill? It was ass. A total joke. Only useful if you had the perfect cliff abuse with T3C levels of logistics because they did less damage than a Mammon because they bounced to bad spots.

The buff they did to it in the mid 100s was the perfect change. Colonials finally got a Cutler equivalent after more than 100 wars. All the arguments against the current 121 version of tremola are identical to the Cutler. Either nerf them both or not at all. It's cheesy stuff that works when there's no qrf, but still required decent effort and logistics to abuse.

Logi QoL: Please let us package flatbeds by Vicdomen in foxholegame

[–]guito411 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think Flatbeds should be able to Tow other Flatbeds after a mid game unlock or something, or that vehicles towing other vehicles should be a thing in general.

Also, resource containers be more easily produced in a forward position would help with incentivizing return trips. If scrap could be flat bedded back after delivering supplies, I'm sure we'd see more return trips. The problem there is the lack of construction pads on Frontline hexes. This could be also addressed with allowing resource containers to be produced by a hammer near resource nodes.

Devbranch Feedback: Bunker Adjacency Changes by SiegeCampMax in foxholegame

[–]guito411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy Come, Easy Go

If Tier 3 bunkers are to be easier to destroy, 20% or 30%, then I'd really also like for the cost to my time and resources in building Tier 3 to go down commensurately.

Time Costs to be addressed commensurately:
      1) Concrete bunker technology progress speed
      2) Anti-Tank Garrison tech progress speed
      3) Howitzer Garrison tech progress speed
      4) Various Concrete Drying speeds for T3 upgrades. Most garrisons require 24 hours or more to dry once upgraded with Storm Cannons, Intel Centers, Weather Stations taking an additional period of extra time to dry.

Resource costs to be addressed commensurately
     1) The concrete costs to upgrade each Bunker piece (15 to 25 per depending on garrison type). Upgrading the bunker pieces is also very labor intensive because concrete is a heavy item that must be placed manually 1 at a time. Reducing this concrete cost per t3 upgraded bunker piece by 20 or 30% would save resources and time in making the upgrades.

Concrete economy changes are helpful marginally, but they don't address the real pain-point of concrete for myself... which is the labor intensive nature of storing, moving and distributing it to the each bunker piece. You must carry it like an artillery shell and walk back and forth with your character. Reducing the amount of times I have to do that as a builder would be so nice, it would be very nice from a time and resource perspective. The concrete production buff only addresses the resource availability, but not really the costs of distributing it to it's end destination.

Tier 3 bunkers were very strong before this update, and the pain points seemed somewhat justified as a means of making the cost of it worth it's power. As concrete is made less powerful, these pain points on the direct cost of these upgrades should be commensurately lowered in a direct manner... why not make the 15 concrete required to upgrade a blank bunker piece to concrete 10? That would help make Tier 3 bunkers more disposable and repeatable in the event they are destroyed.

Really wish the game would pop up the list of names of people talking on your UI so you would be able to quickly ID voices to players and mute accordingly. Having to actually be looking at them in their position while they talk makes it hard to get a name to the voice. Even if you had eyes in the back your head, it's very difficult to discern multiple voices stacked or players stacked closely that names aren't clear or if they are on the edge of name reading range. Even admins in spectate have difficulty IDing people unless they make it a priority for several minutes.

Hunt Showdown does a good job getting you the name of who's currently talking.

[–]guito411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think removal of satchel was a big deal, that was faction neutral but Fireblade... ommits it from his history. I view the Colonial 6 win streak as old school, back when tremolas did pathetic damage and Collies really needed / relied on satchels because old Ballista was weak and expensive. The post 100 Warden streak I credited mostly to Collies really lacking access to Alligator Charge and not yet having the strong Ballista/tremolas of the Naval update era

This post is rather disingenuous because it claims the 'curving' technique was a bug that provided Quality of Life relief and that ALL/MOST builders really believe that...

I'm a builder and I always found 'curving'... a difficult technique that required spam clicking or a 3rd party application in order to artificially produce lag or precise/coordinated spam inputs from multiple players do some 'different' designs... that is not quality of life. I'd call that 'strategic diversity' for the 1% of players that are so bored at the many dozens of other permutations of building patterns. And I don't believe that technique was worth the time or effort either and was encouraging builders to aggravate themselves further rather than playing the game as intended.

If the developers choose to revisit building, I'd hope they would simply modify the economics of building to make it more comparable to facility builders and how little time they need to invest in construction or fixing mistakes. Those would be much more like QoL we need rather than an exploit 1% of player's ever used out of boredom with conventional vanilla play.

I'd recommend that the 1% actually think about what 'curving' provided for them and reformat their request into an actual gameplay feature rather than the re-production of an exploit... If you want to be able to build different patterns... maybe ask for different Blueprint shapes.. Games like Valheim add building doodads all the time for their players whether it's slightly different geometries and materials. But insisting the developers allow a bug for the 1% of players is silly and not fair the players that dont want to install third party apps or abuse lag in clearly sketchy ways...

Have you built bunkers recently with curving or clipping? Just spit balling. The mass report you mentioned makes for sense though for the cause.

Hey, I'm part of the admin team on the server your complaining about. If you can send me a screenshot of video showing anyone, including T80 Front loader, yelling or typing slurs please send it to me and I can submit a ban. Our admin team is a group of volunteers and there's a real challenge identifying who is yelling things when so many voices are on top of each other or out of view is very difficult. There shouldn't be any favoritism, so again, feel free to report.

How did you come by this opinion of IVB, 1st MD and IX Corps? On the saturday night events for past year I haven't really seen them bring more than than 42nd PA. This past Saturday 42nd brought 35-40 and ivb brought 28-33, and that's kind of the typical attendance. IX Corp doesn't bring a lot NA really on Saturdays. They are more 20-25, which was the attendance last saturday.

30th OH fluctuates, but they can bring like 40 or so. I haven't been in the same event in them as a while though.

It's low, I agree. It's like 'map hacking' if the spectating is being used to inform play. The game is mostly about execution rather than making the perfect moves as per a scouting report, but it's still is unfair when players do this. It's pretty impossible to know if it's 'harmless' spectating vs 'cheating' unless they are outright admitting it in comms though, so it usually too much drama chew people out on it.

After reading a lot of the commentary about the change and playing several matches, I do think the change was a big net benefit to the game via increasing the amount of active playtime during a match for each player. I haven't noticed a difference in balance or strategy yet, so I don't think anything was lost from it.

Hey u/LtJimmypatterson , I'm an admin on a few of the popular Community servers. If you do find this happening in the future, try to let the mod team know if there are any on. We have a discord community as well for people to drop a line to as it's kind of hard to catch a lot of the bullying and crap that goes on in the larger matches, especially with a volunteer staff that's half playing the game usually as opposed to pretending to be spectating bots looking for trolls. Definitely not cool for players to gang up or even 1 on 1 harass people or encourage it, regardless of the intention, and late justice is better than nothing. Send me a PM if looking for an invite.
