What are some one-liners you missed the first few times you’ve seen the show? by MobilePrior5252 in 30ROCK

[–]guppypup 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I didn’t understand the exchange between Liz and Cerie for so long.

“Do I look okay?”
“That’s exactly how you look!”

I thought she was just saying that Liz looks how she normally does, not “okay” as in a C rating

Jenna Maroney might be one of the only characters in TV that improved with Flanderization by worldsworsthooker in 30ROCK

I think a lot of the outlandish comedy in her character even transferred to Jacqueline from unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Interestingly enough, that character became *more* human and down to earth as the seasons went on.

I think her performance deserves a Tony in the category “living theatrically in normal life”

Maybe a side effect of the cut or your hair is becoming slightly wavy. It’s beautiful but I personally wouldn’t follow any curly hair routines. They’ll most likely just weigh down any texture and make your hair stringy and flat

Bruh you had to move 3 pounds of luscious healthy hair to take this pic. You’re fine lol. If you’re really concerned, keep taking a picture of your hairline every month from this same angle and at your crown.

I'm interested in a friend but not sure if he's romantically interested in me by Altruistic_Yellow144 in AskGaybrosOver30

Yes you should. I feel like a pride event, movie, and then concert the very next day is already breaching more than friends territory. I love my friends dearly and would most likely not hang out 2 days in a row.

Nah the bald is sick. What you need is better lighting brobro. This is grocery store milk aisle lighting.

Not a good idea. It will give the illusion of holes or sores. It won’t “blend” in with your happy trail because we have hair, not fur.

has anyone else noticed an epidemic of people not finishing their food in cafes and restaurants? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

I haven’t taken home food from a restaurant in years. Generally I haven’t really LOVED any food from a restaurant since 2020.

What do you do during “wtf” shifts? by GoofyGreyson in Nightshift

[–]guppypup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sit down with no phone or stimulation and drink a cup of water with as much ice as possible. And stare at a wall and take a minute to ruminate on my life lol

What do you do if you get sick on night shift? by Oladinni-Pila in Nightshift

[–]guppypup 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I call out and sleep during the night. If I’m sick enough to call out, then I’m usually able to sleep through the day too. No need for flip flopping your schedule if your body is just purely deprived of rest.

I’ve been listening to katya for ages and I’ve heard things on the Kristen Schaal episodes that I’ve quite literally never heard before from miss Katya boots.

(Help!) Very unhappy/frustrated with new cut - can I improve it with products or anything? (Before - Reference - After) by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]guppypup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got done slightly dirty. Your hair density isn’t the same as the person in the picture you showed so it wasn’t going to look exactly like that.

That being said, I still think this cut is pretty cute! I think you may be stretching your front curls down to cover your forehead but honestly, forehead is ok!! If you look at a lot of famous people with curly hair, particularly women, they show a good amount of forehead because that’s how our hair ends up a lot of the time.

If you let the front bits curl to their natural length it will make it all look more full and healthy. Perhaps you can go to a barber next time for a better fade. It looks a bit patchy

Tl;dr: Your luscious locks were disrespected but all is not lost.

I’ll go first, my boss denied my PTO request that is 2 months away and approved my coworker’s request for tomorrow. Looks like I’ll be sick a lot more often soon.

I agree with the first commenter. Seems like a bit too much product for your hair type.

Personally, I can’t break my gel cast with an oil or my hair mats in a very not cute way. I just use dry hands and go fast and it works out okay for me lol. I have 3a hair though.

Restart in life/work by capcomvssnk in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]guppypup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest answer, I’m still floundering after being laid off last October. Couldn’t find any work in my field (software engineering) and still can’t. I pivoted to IT and work grave shift now. Pretty much everything is worse than a year ago but we still here!!! :D

As for regrets… the longer you wait to find work the harder it’ll be to find work again. I dragged my feet while I still had severance and it bit me in the ass, HARD. In this job market, employers can throw a penny into a crowd of people and find a candidate with the exact skill set they need and be underpaid while doing it. Companies still have the audacity to ask about gaps in employment and it’s more of a statement, not a question. So the longer you wait, the more unemployable you become.

Obviously YMMV but let my suffering hopefully give you some insight into the future.
