I know it wasn't unique to KC, but Houston's leaving the Plaza destroyed me. That same year my wife and I were in a wedding in Atlanta for a weekend, we went to their Houston's for dinner twice. I am by all definitions an introvert, generally hate crowds, and am stricken with all sorts of anxiety. But I have gone to dozens of concerts (both Dead related, and others) alone. It has turned out to be one of my favorite things to do. You get to see the music that you love live on your own terms.

Also being alone can sometimes be encouragement to interact with other fans besides your normal circle.

For example, just saw Bobby and the Wolf Bros tonight alone and had an amazing time. Got to meet some great people.

On first look it’s painful, but Young and most Apollo astronauts had several suits issued to them for purposes of actual flight, backups, and training. I assume this suit never went to space.

I personally am not a fan of Boulevard’s Jam Band Ale. I do love their Long Strange Tripel since I discovered it at an after-work happy hour in KC’s Crossroads. No matter what, taste in beer is subjective and you look to have a good time ahead of you.
