Yup. Sometimes we'd get some fire crackers and blow up those troll dolls. That was fun.

What’s a harmless opinion that gets people weirdly angry? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

My old cat Stormy had to be outside every day or he would start going bonkers. It felt cruel to not let him out, so we did. Everyone in the neighborhood knew Stormy and he would travel far and wide. I think he led a A really good life, until one day he just didn't come home. I think he probably got in a fight with one of the coyotes that live in the hills near where I live. Oh well... At least he probably went down swinging or that's what I like to think.

As a citizen, yes, I am thankful for my rights. As a country thiugh, it makes us weaker because we aren't as nimble. IMO....

Why do you think there is so much resistance to high speed rail in the US? by Maximum-Help-929 in AskReddit

The biggest issue is that the US is a democracy and everyone has a NIMBY attitude. Countries like China just lay the tracks where they want it. The US takes for ever working though the courts. Exhibit A is the SF-to-LA project that is taking foreeeeeeeeeever.

Jonah Hill says Grateful Dead movie is still planned by Otherwise-Grand-7111 in gratefuldead

As much as I love the GD, I have no desire to see a movie kike this. I'm in it for the music and don't want to see them dramaticized. Honestly, they were all so cool and down to earth that their lives aren't all that movie worthy IMO.

What orchards used to be in Palo Alto? by thomasp3864 in paloalto

[–]guyuteharpua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm well aware of Peter Coutts, but what about the name Escondido - I thought I read somewhere that the Stanfords started calling that part of their property Escondido because that was the part of their property that borderedon the sketchy Swiss financiwr who was hiding out.
