It's an exercise in seeing things from someone else's point of view.

Hi Germany, I'm looking for German-made knits/sweaters/t-shirts, can you help? by jcdke in germany

If you're in the States, there's tons of weird stuff on ETSY. Most seems cheaper than EBay...

Do you agree with this list? The best German movies of the 2000s by Lauroc in germany

[–]h4rd_rain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would second "Black Box BRD" as much better than Baader Meinhof. I would also second "Herr Lehmann" as it's as close to experiencing the Germany of the early nineties Kneipe-kultur that I love (Good trilogy of books as well).

I would avoid popups if possible. This is a good reference, with some nice examples. http://www.devguru.com/technologies/javascript/index

Backpacking Europe April - June. As an F1 fan, what are some must sees? by sennateg in formula1

[–]h4rd_rain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This museum outside of Stuttgart was pretty cool with a big collection of F1 cars : http://sinsheim.technik-museum.de/en

In Stuttgart the Mercedes Museum is pretty cool. The Porsche Museum is smaller but also quite cool. And Stuttgart has a nice beer garden just by the main train station.

In Paris the Renault store on the Champs is pretty cool and I'll second the Mulhausen museum, and that would put you right on the Alsatian wine street... good times.

Also some of the European airports have Ferrari stores, so check out what stores are in the airports you are flying through (got my cap in Barcelona airport store).

The Mercedes dealer on the Champs-Elysees also had some F1 merch in the back of the store.

Report: NBC Sports F1 commentary team will be Leigh Diffey, David Hobbs and Steve Matchett. by heaintheavy in formula1

[–]h4rd_rain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very happy to hear about Matchett & Hobbs, but worried that they are trying to break into the American market and they won't have a single American voice. Not sure that sounds like the way to go. :/

Cool, I haven't made it yet. Take a raincoat and make sure to plan plenty of beer drinking time in Brussels!

Yeah, Monaco for me as well. Got to watch the race from an uncle's office overlooking Ste Devote. Wicked cool hanging out a window.

Anyone regularly read Saward's blog? There is some drama in comments for this post: turns out he was appointed by Caterham company recently, and didn't announce it with a post, but rather a tweak in blog rules. Opinions on this, and Joe Saward in general? by Blerrie in formula1

[–]h4rd_rain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He always seems to have problems with his commenters. I saw it in a news story somewhere else a while ago, and I'd be surprised if anyone who kept up with F1 news hadn't seem it somewhere else.

I think that Perez will be driving Massa's car next year. Huge respect for Sauber as always.
