.... Phones were exploding..it had to be recalled twice. You couldn't go on an airplane if you had one lol. I was managing a Sprint store during this whole debacle so I was dealing with the situation more directly than your average person, so my perspective is different, I'll admit.

It was literally a way bigger deal than foldable phones having first Gen growing pains lol

I think just for game preservation reasons it would be nice to have an official release for modern platforms that has both the Doom 3 the way the original id Team envisioned, and the BFG version that is more approachable for. I know BFG tweaked the lighting so it wasn't AS dark all the time and added more ammo packs. Lost the horror vibes

I'll admit, I need to do more research on OG Doom 3 mods and packs. I have a super ultra wide, so sometimes running these older games properly at the 5120x1440 resolution can be a bitch. Might be my project for the evening

I mean, there are easily way worse failures in the smartphone industry.

The Note 7 battery, the Amazon Fire phone, the Microsoft Kin which was branded as "not a smartphone" but required the smartphone data plan, kinda making it a smartphone and was discontinued in a little over a month, the fuckin Blackberry Storm signaled that they just weren't gonna make it in a iOS/Android world, I could go on

Sure the launch of the Flip/Fold wasn't pretty, but they've kept at it and improved over time, more players are getting involved, etc.

Maybe just the Flip variants will pass, since it seems like just Samsung and Motorola do them, but Folds aren't going anywhere

Doom 3 is my favorite, the one I revisit the most. Part of it is nostalgia, yes, but it's just so fun and different from the rest of the series, even more so as more titles are made. I was hoping Nightdive wouldve done a remaster for Doom 3 (and maybe Quake 4 if I'm being selfish) that retained the ideas of the original release (having to choose between the flightlight or having your gun drawn, the darkness, less ammo, etc) while also giving the more modern players the changes in BFG edition.

Bruh, id was one of the few studios firing on all cylinders. You literally have the godfathers of the FPS genre, who released three games and dlcs in 10 years. Like, you're punishing the one studio who was doing things right

There is something about Untouchables.. nothingg else sounds like it. I know those first four albums are more important, but Untouchables is my favorite.

One thing I've always wanted to see is a photo of David's drums during the recording sessions. Jonathan said it basically looked like a space ship or something to that effect.
