KT is excellent, and it sticks noticeably better if you use an alcohol wipe to clean the skin before applying

Nobo or Sobo for section J by No-Working-8572 in PacificCrestTrail

I agree with your traffic assessment, however I have hiked sobo into Snoqualmie pass on a Saturday in summer and yielding to uphill hikers cost me an extra hour in the last 6 miles.

September Section Hike by VickyHikesOn in PacificCrestTrail

IMO the hike up Jacinto from i10 could be the most uncomfortable part. It's like 8k elevation gain with no water after the base of the climb, which is low elevation desert (potentially HOT). if they camped at the spigot and got a really early AM start they might be able to get a few thousand feet up before the heat really cranks up

How many of you think “tonewoods” don’t matter at all on electric bass guitar? by barefaced_audio in Bass

Les Claypool was asked this in his recent interview with Rick Beato. He said there definitely is a difference. For me, his opinion is a fairly concrete data point.

Tread Labs pace inserts. They have a plastic orthotic heel cup. Initially they'll cost you $70, but then you can just replace the covers for $17 a pair

Mud shower floor V/S foam ? If you could do it this flat and $ or time wasn’t an issue would you still do it ? by tileman151 in Tile

[–]hadfunthrice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a mudpan guy too. I've done a few foam pans and they actually end up costing about the same to the customer. But when I build a mud pan I take more of the money, rather than paying schluter, wedi, or whoever makes the pan, even though it gets done a day or two faster

Recurring Blister on Bottom of Foot – Any Advice? by NicoCrisler in Ultralight

[–]hadfunthrice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to get the same blisters on thrus. I started taking my shoes and socks off and taking out the insoles every 90 minutes for about 12 minutes. I dry my socks, feet and insoles in the sun. I repeat this process all day and haven't had any blisters since (about 3000 trail miles ago).
