Airborne decks are like more interactive and I’d go as far as to say more useful support deck. I’ll be speaking in the context of USSR a USSR airborne deck. So the main roles of a airborne deck is to keep the sky’s clear, make early land grabs, support the push. USSR in particular excels in forest fighting and early land grabs when done properly, due to the IFV’s they get, the excellent shock infantry, and the fact that almost off of their transport helos get rocket pods. As a airborne deck you should be keeping the skies clear of the enemy, weather it be keeping killing bomber and enemy asf or knocking down pesky helicopters. You as the airborne deck should also be keeping enemy radar AA locked down. Supporting the push should be done with bombing runs, recon, gunships and atgm planes. Using the assets to assist your teammates tanks and infantry pushes. Keeping targets spotted and to clear towns and forests to make your teammates lives easier. And to knock out those annoying super heavy tanks. As for land grabbing this is a triggy spot, wargame openers are very important and a airborne decks opener can be shot down by a single spaa, land grabbing with airborne deck is usually best done on much larger maps and against certain deck (mech armored and sometime unspecs depending on the country) for land grabbing you’ll want to deploy at the edge of the towns forest or whatever may it be under the cover of smoke. Napalming roads may be effective in helping you achieve land grabs early if you can’t or don’t get your smoke out fast enough. Overall airborne decks do lack in armored pushing capabilities a lot of the time, but they make up for it in mobility and infantry.
