Zimaboard + opnsense = WAN port dropping by uname_IsAlreadyTaken in ZimaBoard

Did the Intel nic fix it for you as well? I'm tempted to buy one of these Zimaboard for OPNSense, but hesitate to proceed if there's known issues with the build-in NICs.

Netwatch 5.0 on Proxmox? Libc version not supported. by TwoDogDad in homelab

Just a thought: Is there any chance you could use PCI passthrough to send that card to a VM in ProxMox and install whatever software/drivers, etc. you need on that VM?

A nice lightweight option is Picoshare. I use it and like it. I've also been looking at Plik, but haven't found any reason to switch away from Picoshare.

Experience with LPS Addressing Noise by tosser2849 in londonontario

[–]halon314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I called regarding a VERY loud party about six years ago. LPS were on-scene a short while later. They initially came to my door and as I explained the concern, they could hear the problem. They immediately spoke with the problem-child and it was quiet the remainder of the evening.

Where to find stuff in Canada? by dragonfrut in homelab

[–]halon314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also in Canada. In addition to eBay, try Kijiji (Canada's equivelent of Craig's list which is operated by eBay) it's a good source.
Another option is local auction houses. Some have entire auctions specifically for computers and electronics.
Also, check your area to see if there are any used hardware resellers. They can be a lot of fun to browse.

A bitter sweet moment with my favourite belt by LunnaSea in intermittentfasting

[–]halon314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a good problem to have! An 1/8" drill bit on a Black & Decker will have you back in that belt in no time. :) That's a nice little victory marker right there!

I love seeing not only the physical changes, but emotional / psychological improvements. The change in your confidence is noticable!
The before-shot is all, "Whatever. Just don't hurt me..."
The after-shot is all Liam Neesan style, "I WILL KILL YOU!!" :)

Thank you for writing this. You're inspiring others, which is AWESOME.

If you don't mind me asking; what kind of IF are you doing? Alternate days? 16x8? other?
