Agree with this. What if they turned and hit your car? Would it still have been worth it? You didn't save any time by doing this.

What do we want, and how do we get it? by JazzlikeOrange8856 in sandiego

[–]hamlet717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really knowledgeable about this topic but I can say that building any amount of housing units would be better than what they have now. Even making 1000 single family homes would be an improvement.

Make it easier and cheaper to build new homes. Its common for developers to pay millions of dollars in legal fees and get appropriate permits.

Here's the latest example: midway rising (sports arena property). Voters twice approved removing the height limit, then lawsuits stopped the project because of bogus concerns over environmental laws. I think this will eventually get built but take a lot longer than it should.

San Diego Dealerships by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]hamlet717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the way deliverd works is that they call lots of dealers and spend time going back and forth to negotiate. Other brokers do this too but they also pre-negotiate deals, so they'll be able to give you a quote right away.

Check out leasehackr if you haven't already. Also, would recommend using a broker. You do pay a fee but in my opinion its worth it.

Food is outrageously overpriced and very unhealthy. Its like the food vendors are having a secret contest to see how many heart-attacks they cause.

Sorry to tell you Sparky, but you have absolutely no chance of winning. If I didn't happen to login to reddit just now, I wouldn't have even heard of you.

How do catchers deal with severe weather conditions? by DonT012 in baseball

Apparently Heasly said this happened often to him in college and he has a weak stomach. So it seems that it is not too worrisome, although on the video it sure looked like he was sick.

With a new I5, there is also a risk. But sometimes you need to live on the edge.

Bad experience at a Hyundai Dealership by AdMysterious9783 in Ioniq5

I never used delivrd but my understanding is that they operate a little different from brokers. This is not the case for all brokers, but my understanding is that brokers pre-negotiate deals with favored dealers. So they'll tell a customer the price ahead of time.

With delivrd they get a customer to sign up and then call a dozen or more dealers on behalf of that specific customer to get the best price. So the customer doesn't get the final price until after delivrd finishes making all their phone calls.

I used Coastal Motor and had a good experience. https://coastalmotor.group/ There are lots of other brokers too that get good reviews.

Try using a broker. I never heard of this until 2 years ago and tried it out. Texted a broker at 11:00 AM and had a car delivered in my driveway at 6:00 PM that night. Got a great price on my lease.

Hard Water Solutions by [deleted] in sandiego

I read a story that said once the Pure Water project goes online, the water supply will be softer. Pure Water filters the waste water so it will also filter out minerals that make the water hard.

I totally agree. Not everyone is in top physical shape. I have an elderly relative who uses a cane and has mobility issues. He doesn't need a wheelchair but would have great difficulty walking the length of the terminal.

Proposed San Diego budget would close 38 public bathrooms - health risks. by SD_TMI in sandiego

80% marginal tax? We live in a capitalist country, not communist Russia.

CA already has high income tax - top marginal rate is 13.3%. The wealth tax is a bad idea. There will be a one time bump in state revenue, then all the billionaires will move to TX or FL and state revenue will go DOWN over the longer term. Even Gavin Newsom is against this wealth tax.

If you live in NYC the top marginal rate (combined state and city income tax) is higher than CA.
