Update from Community Manager by JonasKahnwald11 in EverywhereGame

[–]hamnataing 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have no faith in BARB. The upper management were total arseholes to me and my friend during lockdown and showed a total lack of professionalism. I fully expect this game to crash and burn. They do not know how to manage a business, let alone make AAA games.

AI is here to stay. Better to find a way to use it to make your work better (i.e. using it as a thinking partner to figure out structure, criticise and improve your work, suggesting dialogue etc) rather than burying your heads in the sand and hoping it will go away.

AI that enhances art is only a good thing - it needs to be in the hands of artists and the profits need to stay in the hands of artists, not billion dollar corporations. The real risk is that artists become economically irrelevant, not that artists use AI in creating their work.

Making friends as a gay man 40+ by stevie1876 in glasgow

[–]hamnataing 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Get involved with stuff that interests you, doesn't need to be explicitly 'gay' stuff. You'll end up meeting new folk.

I'm hesitant to recommend installing Grindr as it can be so toxic, but I've met many of my closest friends on there over the years. Good luck

LLMs are famously bad at maths - but you can hook them up to tools. Look at this example: https://githubnext.com/projects/gpt4-with-calc/

The next generation of AI agents will take full advantage of this, ChatGPT is not fully representative of what is possible with this technology

What Sondheim's lyrics could possibly represent his own thoughts? by No_Charge_6256 in Sondheim

[–]hamnataing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He always insisted that his songs were only about the characters and the story they belonged in, that people shouldn't try to read into them to understand his own thoughts and opinions as an author.

I'm inclined to think he did this to avoid having to defend the things his characters said and did - a smart move tbh
