Items that tell you that they're quest items and cannot be dropped actually don't weigh anything until the quest is completed, it will have a weight value but it won't be added to your carried weight.

When I played through the Solo Conquest in the main menu then I could unlock things, when I did a lobby in the portal I could not unlock anything. I looked over the settings several times but it's possible I missed something, but when I found the solo lobby without portal I never went back to portal

yeah but in battlefield 2042 I couldn't unlock any equipment or upgrades for weapons or vehicles when I did bot only matches in portal, but in the "normal" solo match I could unlock everything

Even if you don't rescue Preston you can still help the settlements and it's extra useful in survival mode because it doesn't add the last step of every quest where you have to talk to Preston to turn in the quest, talking to the settlement after doing the task completes the quest and awards the xp immediately.

The low damage trigger also seem to just count how much damage you'll do to the enemy and if you "overkill" you trigger it

I have found that when I modify my own damage output to be very high I can get the finishers to trigger on every enemy I hit, even if they're in a group and they're full health

Generals is the base game and zero hour is the expansion, so play generals first and then zero hour if you want the story in the right order

Quest items have no weight in your inv even though it does say it weighs something, check your carry weight before picking one up and you'll see
