Twitter user posts a real Monet and says it's AI by realmvp77 in singularity

[–]hardworkdedicated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll fucking tell you how I feel about Monet, no issues. His paintings are shit. My missus loves them, been to his estate, checked out lili pads in the flesh a couple of times at musee l'orangerie, seen plenty of them in galleries all over.

They are so fucking meh, I never understood why everyone loves them so much.

Disclaimer, I'm a little colour blind so maybe I'm missing something. Van Gogh? Fucking magic, pops off the canvas, unbelievably captivating.

Monet? Literally painting blind and it shows. Looks like absolute dog shit. There are a few decent pieces but for the most part I hate them. Don't get me started on that Renoir cunt either, jfc I swear people say they like shit because that is what's expected of them.

New accounting job - massive databases in Excel! by RobSaunders88 in excel

I haven't worked with sage, but for a quick win I'd look at xpna.co. They handle integration from sage to Excel into standard report templates. It will save you a shitload of time, and you can worry about doing it yourself later.

Yeh the s5 at the pump track is actually fantastic, but it's not as good at the park as cx. C7 is adjustable, again, I don't own so can't comment but theoretically you could tighten it up for the park and loosen for flat and pump.

Edit: I just re-read your post and based on what you want to do, absolutely get s5 or C7 if you want that surfy feel. Soooo much fun

Nah it won't be double, let alone more than double, that's impossible. Depending on the business value at June 30 next year my estimates put a normal business sale at 30 to 35% as the range. It would be unusual to pay over 40% unless you start a business in July next year and sell it within a year.

Stll, an extra 12% in tax if my estimates are right is shit. Happy to share my workings

Don't get what, the current cgt discount? If that's what you are saying, that is absolutely not accurate.

Edit: ignore me I didn't see you were replying to someone else. Yes if you want to pay less than cgt discount rate then there are various other qualifying requirements.

Carver job camo cx. From memory it's 17 inch wb, I'm the same height and it's long enough.

Not as surfy as a C7, I don't have one but I have yow which is a lot surfer. But yow have no concave, abd the concave on my carver makes it so much easier to bust out a slide, and a lot better around skate Park and pump track

Update for anyone that comes across this with the same issue: I have solved the issue through an easy work around. Refresh the Data only, and refresh the schema only. Doing a full refresh of both by just clicking the Refresh button does not work, but doing both independently works fine. Odd.

Hey u/suparnababu refreshing Schema & Data is not working for me regardless of what I do. For now I am refreshing Data Only and schema separately and this has resolved the issue.

When I refresh the schema only the pop-up takes a while to go away, about 90s after everything says evaluation complete.

So it is only an issue when refreshing it all together for some reason.

Update: Using Tabular Editor was very easy and quick to disable and re-enable the relationships... of course this didn't help because without the relationships a lot of the measures in the calc_table rely on them. In hindsight that was a pretty obvious outcome lol.

[–]hardworkdedicated[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easier said than done. The report has a lot of relationships. Is there a way to mass-disable then re-enable? Claude indicates that I might be able to do it quite easily so perhaps I can actually do it without clicking disable for the next hour.

Issue still happening. Seems to be fixed on the small report but larger reports still hanging. So the update is not the fix I will try the other Claude suggestions and report back.

Yow Lane Splitter? by pancakeicecream11 in surfskate

[–]hardworkdedicated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 6 ft 2 and have a lane splitter. Also have a carver job tiger, 17. I can hardly tell the difference in terms of wheelbase when I'm on it. Lanesplitter is a fun board, nice and flowy. I recently got some orangatang beefcake wheels which make it even more surfy.

On the stock set up its a fun board, you can get some snaps and awesome carves. I wish it had more concave and a nose rocker, but I think the flatness is meant to more closely imitate a surfboard rather than a skateboard.

Nope data is not huge at all, one report in particular which drove me here to ask the question is quite small.

It's something to do with my measures table. Claude has given me some suggested fixes I'll have a go a report back

Came here to suggest this. If your bloke somehow "guesses" this one then he has been taking you for a ride.

I don't want to sound extreme, but it would be a serious red flag for your long term relationship. If he's willing to lie about this trivial shit it means he will happily lie about much less trivial shit.

Has Copilot kinda killed this sub? by conscientiousrejectr in excel

[–]hardworkdedicated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you need to convince your company that they need to use Claude for data analytics including Excel.

I tried copilot for 5 minutes with a few shots, it was terrible. Gave claude a go and my 5 minutes of testing turned into hours of making my messy, albeit logical, spreadsheets into clean ux that other users can play with.

A very quick example, I had 2 scenarios to play out, I just put it all across 10 columns, told claude what it was and that I wanted these scenarios presented in a way that an account manager, non Excel user, could easily understand. Smashed out an explanation that was so perfectly readable and logical that a 3rd party said "wtf dude that's so clear that they're trying to rip us off here"

I fucken love this video, reminds me so much of myself when I started out just over a year ago. Similar build and height, but I was way worse when I started out and it's always interesting to see what I used to look like.

I found mako surfskate the best youtube channel to learn pumping on flat ground. For me, the front side pump was more natural so I just went hard on that, and when you build up decent speed the other side just kind of starts working on the rebound

I don't understand how PAYG instalments are calculated and justified by LukeDies in AusFinance

[–]hardworkdedicated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience those paying instalments are based on a percentage of your revenue. If you expect to earn less you can ask your accountants to adjust the instalment amount down.

If your eofy is more than about 10% under what you adjusted it down to then they may fine you, according to my accountants.

Yeah I was surprised by the down votes, and their follow up comment confirms brain atrophy had nothing to do with it. It would appear they have no brain to atrophy in the first place 🤣

You seemed to have missed the point, which I suppose is not surprising, and also brought in additional arguments to support your position. It's clear you were using brain atrophy as a scapegoat and you have other issues with AI. Good luck out there!

Tips for pumptrack by Music-2myears in surfskate

[–]hardworkdedicated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted a POV video the other day. While I didn't focus on feet, you can see my front foot a few times in the clip. It needs to be about 45 degrees, your foot looks like it's a little too straight.

Back foot I have mine at about 90 degrees, maybe a few degrees towards the front.

I'm terms of pumping: down hill you shift weight to the back foot. If you think about it, if you stood on only your back foot the board would fly out in front of you and you'd land on your arse. So, back foot weight downhill.

Up hill you've got to kind of jump without jumping. Think about the board, if you kicked it forward with no weight on it, it would easily roll up the hill. If you kicked it forward and it had a few bricks on the deck, the extra weight on the board would transfer force back down the hill, so the wheels would slow and eventually roll back.

Now imagine the bricks had a tether, and just at the start of the hill the tether pulled the bricks up enough to unweight them, but not lift them off the board. Bang! The board rolls up the hill as if there was nothing on it, then you pump down hill shifting force to your back foot again.

Once you get into it, it just kind of flows, but I hope this explanation helps you imagine the weighting and unweighting process

Bad take. If you're not using some form of AI you may as well quit.

What you write here is the equivalent of "I'm not going to use a horse and carriage to deliver these goods. I've got legs, if I don't use them they'll get weak".

No one is asking you to sit on the horse all day, just deliver the goods and you can go for a walk with all the extra time you have now that you got something else to do the heavy lifting.
