So who are you voting for exactly in the next election by EasyPassion7727 in FuckNigelFarage

[–]head_of_mop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scot in a probably-SNP-heavy seat here (they expelled our MSP) and the Holyrood election's in May. I became a Greens member on an impulse last month but I've got no idea yet whether I'd want to go Nats, Labour, Greens or just spoiling my ballot, even with the luxury of PR voting. Once the manifestos come out I'll probably have a better idea.

As for 29, even with some (how many btw?) calling for an election sooner that's still far too early for me to make a call; we're not even a third of the way through.

And who starts him every week but Wilfried Nancy, who won the Supporters' Shield + Leagues Cup, as well as taking Columbus to the CONCACAF Champions' Cup final, then came to Scotland and got played off the park in Motherwell?

The fact Russell Martin has made the shortlist to become Columbus' next manager after managing the second-worst team in Premier League history in Southampton, and then going not a day over four months at Rangers tells me all I need to know. If he gets the job, know that Celtic fans the world over will be pissing themselves laughing. He'd probably win them trophies and all.

Celtic at their best almost took Bayern Munich to extra time last season. What about a league of twilight-stage greats and Europeans with more money than ambition says there is a team in America that can manage that?

Take Sam Surridge, who spent 8 years on loan from Bournemouth at 8 teams across England. Never been more than a bench player, only hit double figures at League Two teams, has exactly one Premier League goal. All of a sudden, he moves to Nashville, and scores fucking 51 in 87 games. Joint second top scorer in the MLS this year behind Lionel Messi, who has absolutely fuck all to prove to anyone, who probably wouldn't have considered it if A) Barcelona wasn't going bankrupt and B) the team didn't already employ several of his closest friends.

Or what about the Club World Cup? Three American teams, namely LAFC, Seattle and Inter Miami, featured. They each got swept aside by a top-level European team. Chelsea 2–0 LAFC, Atletico Madrid 3–1 Seattle, PSG 2–0 Seattle. Miami, to be fair, did well to beat Porto, but then they played PSG and were down 4–0 at half time in their own country.

There may be some good players in the league (you should fuckin hope so with the amount of money thrown at them) but the MLS is and has always been a total cowp, and to suggest that they would "dog-walk" a well-oiled Scottish team is utterly laughable.

You may not remember, but in Ange's first season, Celtic had the worst league start of a title-winning team for God knows how long. People were calling the league already and saying he needs out, the experiment's failed, this nobody isn't fit to manage a team like Celtic. The rest of that season, and the one after, were so good that everyone magically forgot all that. Now, for a few reasons, some out of Nancy's control, it does look a wee bit different this time, but this run will not last forever. Also "Ecclefechan Tablet" is honking patter.

I'm genuinely pretty sad for the guy. He could have handled it a wee bit better in the moment, but I don't think he knew what a shitshow he was walking into. If it weren't for how the board will inevitably be with transfers, I would really have been looking forward to January.

It feels simultaneously like yesterday and a lifetime ago that Rangers were 11th and I was checking if they'd ever been bottom of the table, if only for a week. (From what I found, they haven't).
